Thank you so much for this information. Super helpful.

I have a tenth-gen iPad, a third-gen iPad, and a 3rd Gen iPad Air. I was expecting to update my iPad to the new Air but did not see anything there that would be needed in the way I use it for media consumption and light gaming. My Keyboard folio for the iPad Air failed about a year ago and I just replaced it with a normal cover. I wasn’t using it. I was disappointed that it had failed. It would be nice to have more processing power and I expect that if Apple goes ahead with AI on the local machine my current hardware will be cast out as being unclean and unworthy and of the wrong caste. For now, I am sitting tight and watching. I can save that money and let it sit quite nicely Thank you.

I am also questioning my need to upgrade my iPhone. I am on the Fibonacci upgrade cycle so should wait till the iPhone 21. I think I may put my iPads on the same upgrade plan. So, I can then wait for the iPad 13 which is likely ten years away based on current timelines.

The new 13” iPad Pro at the specs that I want with a pencil costs less than my 2020 cost me at the same storage without a pencil. What is she on about concerning the price?

Also, yeah it’s not a MacBook Pro. I can’t draw on the screen of a MacBook Pro and if I were to get a new cintiq, it would probably cost me about as much as an iPad Pro without considering the cost of a computer.

This was absolutely perfect. It all needed to be said. Ever since Steve passed it’s like the company went brain dead and it just show’s how out of touch these people truly are. There’s just isn’t really any creativity put into the design of their products and even the software and OS are still stuck in the past. Yea there’s been improvements but in reality they’re still stuck in limbo. 🤷🏽‍♂️

In 2024 Apple changed the camera to the landscape position. WOW! It’s not like that has been a HUGE ask since, oh, 2014. I’m tired of Apple “innovating” a decade late and I’m tired of amazingly fast iPad hardware limited by ipadOS.

I’m really glad that the IPad Air now is the same size but weighs MORE than an IPad pro model. Makes total sense. WTF?

  11. @AlbertPatrick

    May 11, 2024 at 6:27 pm

Apple will do whatever they want, because they know that consumers will buy it anyway, since they essentially own the tablet market. The only thing people can do to try and convince Apple to change is to not buy an iPad and migrate to the alternative options out there….. Like that’s going to happen 🤣

Its a confusing mess looking to extract the most money it can from consumers. I use my ipad for reading books and watching ytube. Dont need oled or m4 or a 350.00 keyboard or 200 pencil nano glass. Apple is becoming a fashion accessory to separate the haves from the have nots

My iPad did replace my MacBook Pro, I gave it to my wife who loves it. I just git the 13 inch iPad Air to replace the 2018 iPad Pro that I have used for the last five years. I also have an 11 inch 4th gen iPad Air. Those two iPads, and now the 13 inch air is all I need, all I will need for the next five years, although I’m sure that I am going to replace the 4th gen air because I dropped it and cracked the screen. I think I am the person that Apple made the iPad for, it does everything I need to do, no need for a laptop for me. I also don’t need an iPad Pro, the air is good enough. I hope that they don’t make them run IOS, or if they do it will be like the Samsung tablet and you can turn it on or off.. I think there is more people like me than those who want their iPads to work just like their MacBook Pros. Just keep your MB pro and get rid of the iPad , and I will keep my iPad and use it every day (it’s what I’m using right now).

Nailed it! I want to upgrade my iPad, but I am confused about what model to buy. The product launch only further muddied things for me. I don’t want to spend for the sake of spending. But, I also don’t want to buy a product that will be obsolete next year. I don’t know where the iPad is headed, so I can’t really make an educated buying decision today.

Apple is not innovating but instead intruding tech industry with their money hungry tactics.

  28. @jensfuhrmann2109

100% right. Steve would be very sad about where his company went to. And not even the Stock market is happy. Warren Buffet sold Apple for a reason.

Great review. These iPad roll outs have been the same for me over the last few years: I’m excited about the potential of the new hardware and keenly disappointed that iPad OS can’t come close to fully tapping that potential. If Apple announces a seriously upgraded iPad OS or iPad Pro OS next month, then I will be much more interested in buying the new Pro. If not, I’ll stick with my M1 iPad Pro, which already has more power than I’ve ever been able to use.

  33. @phire4694

    May 12, 2024 at 3:49 pm

I’m so happy you guys pointed out these truths instead of praising Apple. You are 1000% right they made a thinner iPad Pro which no one asked for, they should have added more battery life, they took away the ultrawide camera, 1 microphone, and millimeter wave 5G.

  34. @paultopping7413

    May 12, 2024 at 4:12 pm

Apple will need to come up with the goods at WWDC re AI and the use case for the ipad pro. At the moment it appears to be a very niche product and that niche are fully served by MacBooks. 99% of iPad users (like myself) are incapable of taking advantage of such a super powerful tablet so are likely to ‘trade down’ to an air IF they need to change at all. I have a 2021 iPad Pro with a magic keyboard therefore there is no incentive to change as the air is roughly equivalent to what I have and the new pro is too expensive and I dont need the high specs for my use cases. In short Apple will need to come up with a compelling use case for the new iPad Pro for ‘normal users’!

I got 10 minutes in, until a saw the squish video. I was disgsuted. I am actually so angry after their Apple event video!!! I’m not woke at all, I’m an Apple Mac user, and this really got even my blood boiling.

  39. @trungledinh5123

    May 12, 2024 at 5:43 pm

Never ask for it to be thinner. Chips nowadays are fast and the only thing to mess with it is Apple’s deliberate intention (limited software). In the end, why would you ever trade battery life for a BEND GATE? That thinness will only force you to live without a piece of mind and of course, more money spent on cases.
I never like Tim. He has destroyed Steve Jobs’ legacy successfully 🙂 Soon, they will take out the charger for iPad…

  40. @rodriguezhudson202

    May 12, 2024 at 5:52 pm

No matter what people say good or bad about the iPad. People still going to buy it regardless even if it don’t make sense.

  41. @Prince-iv7uc

    May 12, 2024 at 6:08 pm

Apple has been milking their consumers for some time. Their only focus is to make money, not innovate or satisfy consumers. Some people think Apple is still the best among the tech. Not really.

  42. @HarukiYamamoto

    May 12, 2024 at 6:16 pm

They could have just given us more battery life.

  43. @tr4x1ymus

    May 12, 2024 at 6:22 pm

2 grand for a tablet, meanwhile a top tier gaming laptop could be found for less.

iPad mini, iPad & MacPad: with MacOS when the MagicKeyboard is added. Simple & Pro.

why i do see only blacks people on apple products presentation? is it propaganda?

  46. @frazerweb

An Apple Ipad pro with full apple Os would be cool.

  47. @theleastsignificantbit4794

    May 12, 2024 at 7:25 pm

Excellent video. I’ll pass on the iPad and continue to use my 2020 Pro until the iPad can replace a laptop.

  48. @jonsmith6331

    May 12, 2024 at 8:34 pm

I actually think it’s slightly condescending to think the average Apple consumer can’t figure out the difference between three iPads and the mini. It’s quite simple actually, and the features are listed on the website clearly. The prices are pretty clear and also one can assume that the more expensive ones are “faster” which is roughly true. Is this something you’ve heard people complain about in real life? That’s probably why the company is still making billions of dollars on these things. They are selling 5 iPhones and no one is confused about that. I don’t think anyone is confused about any aspect of Apple really. But it is fun to complain about.

  49. @TrinityEntWorld

    May 12, 2024 at 9:20 pm

Let me shooter a tweet to the EU to sue apple again for over selling us tech we don’t and stealing our money..
    they literally stealing from us..
