90% of the new iOS feature I probably won’t use. Can we have a slim version of the IOS, so I can enjoy my old iPhone again?

I updated to ios17 .. and literally the only change really is the screen on iMessage when you go to send an attachment ……

    Regarding voicemail:

Either Android or Samsung phones has that option for years.
    You have to enable it.

This is the kind of reviews I like. Not glorifying every stupid old feature for no reason. Honest opinion even if it’s critical. Finally. Thanks!

Even though Google might have done something similar first regarding voicemail. But Apple seems to know how to do things right. Which is always a game changer. I’ve never been more excited (or excited at all) for software updates. Woohoo!!! The iMessage and contact cards are going to be awesome as well!

Apple invested a ton of money into cult manipulation tactics to use on consumers as well as Apple Store employees. They’ve perfected it. That’s the only reason you feel that way. Enjoy the kool-aid!

Speaking of going back to the 90’s, all these AI chatbots—ChatGPT, Bing’s, Google’s, Siri—should aspire to to be like Holly, the ships main computer, from Red Dwarf. Or even Kryton, limitations and all, love him. It’s impossible to love something that is perfect, that doesn’t have quirks or imperfections of some kind: people are intimidated and fearful of ‘perfect’. You can’t beat 90’s answer machines – it was so much better being able to leave anonymous heavy breathing phone messages, without your name and number appearing on screen!

Why Suddenly CNET Become AppleNET 🤔

  18. Jason

    June 17, 2023 at 12:49 am

Yeah most of iOS 17 updates seems like meh. I hope auto correct works better. The current version isn’t very good. Even though it’s bad, typing on Apple devices is so much better than Samsung. Every time I have to fix a family member’s Samsung Galaxy S23 it feels so clunky and slow, and the typing is too sensitive, not sure how Samsung users put up with accidentally typing stuff in. The setting menu is so convoluted, it’s hard to find where I need to go. I have to always Google the steps and it be buried deep somewhere. Apple simplicity can’t be replicated. Even though Samsung has beaten Apple in Phone hardware, the software still is inferior for usability.

In 2002, I got my first cell phone from Sprint. It was made by Sanyo, and it had a feature that will transfer the missed calls into an internal answering device that allowed me to hear the callers while leaving their messages into my phone and I was able to interrupt them, just like a landline answering machine.

The essential thing that everyone should be thinking about right now is investing in non-government sources of income. Especially in light of the current global economic crisis. It is still a wonderful moment to invest in gold, silver, digital money, and stocks.
