Not to be rude but most people are under the assumption that your religion doesn’t allow you to eat such food. Lab grown meat would be seen by many as something “unholy”.

      January 2, 2023 at 8:22 pm

I thought that was for pork. This is “beef”

    • Gartos_ CZ

      January 2, 2023 at 8:28 pm

@ItsAlive111 I wouldnt even call it that. It is not meat at all, so she is in clear in my opinion

Hi, I’m Muslim too and this is too new. There isn’t yet a consensus. Also, you come off hella condescending, dawg. Lol

    • John Smith

      January 2, 2023 at 9:01 pm

@Dan-The-Man You approve of meat that’s not made by god?! Meat comes from animals which are the creation of god. This is man made meat that would be seen as heresy and would go against most religions. There’s nothing holy about it.

No fam as long as the ingredients abide by the diet we adhere too meaning no product from animals not slaughtered in accordance to shariah. If the byproduct is certified halal then yes it is permissible. The religion isn’t difficult we have leeway in many matters.

The only Haram here is that beef 😅, it’s not real meat!

    • 04_Ruiza Tanedy

      January 2, 2023 at 8:41 pm

I don’t want to be rude and can understand why pork was considered Haram. Pig were dirty animals. But this meat? Why it is considered Haram?

  5. Gartos_ CZ

    January 2, 2023 at 8:18 pm

Nothink will ever replace natural meat

  6. SanjuanSanjuan

    January 2, 2023 at 8:20 pm

Is the meat soft similar to how certain muscles of an animal would be tough or tender based on muscle activity?

Since lab grown meat doesn’t even do any sort of work as how muscle fibers is intended. It’s probably one of the reason why it’s squishy isn’t?

Then again it could probably in age also? Since veal/young calfs while tender isn’t squishy.

    • Gartos_ CZ

      January 2, 2023 at 8:29 pm

Problem will be that it isnt really a muscle fiber but paste glued together that resembles meat. They cant really 3D print muscle fiber

    • SanjuanSanjuan

      January 2, 2023 at 8:36 pm

@Gartos_ CZ Well for clarification the vid said lab grown meat. The 3D printing machine used the labgrown meat like how 3D printed plastic uses cables of plastic. You could also think of it that they already have the lab grown meat they’re just using that machine as medium to shape it to palatable food. You could also think of that machine as the painter the lab grown meat the paint.

    • Gartos_ CZ

      January 2, 2023 at 8:44 pm

@SanjuanSanjuan yea still it isnt really a muscle fiber, so it will never really have same consistency. Only way to make muscle fiber to be same as it is from real animals would be by cloning

If no one told you it was lab grown meat and it was in say, a chilli dish, you never would have known the difference

  9. noder mark

    January 2, 2023 at 9:28 pm

As a Muslim, I love the idea of lab-grown meat and, if companies are actually able to give it consistency, nutrition, and taste just as good as real meat, I think lab-grown meat would basically remove the requirement that if a Muslim wants to eat meat then it needs to be slaughtered in a halal way. This may also be true for the Jewish people and kosher slaughter, since, if I remember correctly, just like Muslims, Kosher is about removing blood from the meat and I don’t think lab grown has any blood to begin with. This might even remove the Hindu’s restriction on not eating beef since no cows are actually being eaten. Allow vegetarians/vegans to eat meat since no animals are being harmed etc. I am looking forward to the future of this. (Apologies in advance regarding any errors about the restrictions of different ideologies/religions)

You want to eat meat so bad you’ll eat “lab grown meat” 🤡

    • Milo Božovich

      January 2, 2023 at 11:48 pm

“Remove the halal requirement from the Muslim diet”.

Ughhh. No. Muslims will never stop eating and slaughtering actual meat. It’s a part of our religion.

Some individual product being “halal” also has no no baring on the general prohibition of other haram products. So no it will not remove the halal requirement.

As vegetarian/adventist, I see this technology as advancement, but when looking to health, meat is meat and still is bad for us.

Just eat anything you want. Halal isn’t real and is out dated pseudo science.

If zabeeha I can see it as a last minute alternative to some dishes but definitely not a complete replacement for meat. Also you’re suppose to say bismillah before eating fam.

First they took away my plastic bags, because it was environmentally friendly and good for me too. Now I carry around with me a little reusable bag (made from oil), everywhere I go, even if I haven’t bought anything yet. THEN…. they took away my plastic straw, because it was environmentally friendly, gave me a paper straw, that falls apart so fast, I chug my drink now to finish it, causing me to burp and fluctuate more (greenhouse gas increase on my part). THEN….. they told me to eat fake meat (100%) a couple of years ago, which failed miserably. NOW, they are mixing the fake meat with real meat to sell that to me. No thanks. People, the Earth warmed up and cooled down a bazillion times before mankind was on this Planet. We are not that important when it comes to the state of our planet. I am totally removing myself from this stupidity. Who else will join me?????
