    There is no point!
All the best green technology can be destroyed over-night by war.
Hunger – We don’t need more people to eat! We need more people to eat the food they buy and to stop throwing it away.
We need to have people pick the food and get it to markets so it doesn’t rot on the trees or fields.

Corn flakes? Why not an egg? An egg doesn’t need to fortified it’s a perfect food and a few chickens could just keep laying them all the time. You don’t have to keep delivering boxes of corn flakes that just makes children hungrier because they’re sugar, a complete waste of money.

Eggs aren’t shelf stable, they’re focusing on shelf stable foods to extend their reach. They should do the same thing with small/starting farmer support so local food markets can stabilize and grow

@WideEyed Smiles Eggs have been around a lot longer than corn flakes.

@Toni ‘shelf stable’ is the key word here. Try powdered eggs. 5-10 years shelf life vs shelf stable, means it doesn’t go bad while in transit, means no wasted food.

We don’t need new technologies to fight global hunger. We would be perfectly capable of feeding every human on the planet with our current technologies. The problem is the egoism and hunger for money and power of those who could actually achieve large scale change.

      June 29, 2022 at 11:55 am

And *that* is why those who really want to make a difference rely on technology.

      June 30, 2022 at 2:47 am

Thank you. We have the technology, it’s just that we think short term, and there is no money to be made feeding others – – short term.

Even if we can feed everyone, it won’t be enough for us in the future.

  5. Get Your Life Better

    June 29, 2022 at 11:30 am

Wars, natural disasters, poverty, and climate change make it difficult to eliminate global hunger and deliver assistance to those in need. Hundreds of millions of people suffer from hunger and malnutrition despite the world having enough food to feed everyone. But advanced technologies are starting to make a real difference. They enable farmers to produce more food and provide aid organizations with the tools necessary to more efficiently help vulnerable groups. Ending world hunger remains a challenging task, but science and technology can deliver life-changing solutions and also make our world a better place for all of us.

      June 29, 2022 at 11:37 am

We don’t need farming tools to speed anything up. Everything is fine the way it is, because there is enough to feed everyone. In fact technology does not need to deliver on that, food does it, and then you give it to those in need. I don’t see the need for any sophisticated technology to complete that tasks. We need technology that is going to assist with this climate change getting worse each year. Its quite apparent technology isn’t doing anything to help with this.

    BLAH BLAH BLAH.
Sorry, but just feeding people and sustaining THE POPULATION is like spinning thread blind
folded. The more people the more multiculturalism the more chaos the more war the more disease the lower the IQ the more mutations the more desperation the more hate the more of all things negative and destructive. And the more Nature and biodiversity suffers. The more pollution, the more DEVELOPMENT. The more planning the more solutions to problems the more problems.

With Technology and Innovation can we stop world hunger and global warming. Just imagine what it would be like 50 years from now, maybe these world problems might end very soon. But if they do then we should all be very thankful on what technology and Innovation has done to our world. Thank you for sharing this video with us, always brightens up our day whenever we learn something new.

What a naive nonsence. To cope with hunger, developing countries need agricultural machines, agricultural technologies, fertilizers, fuel, irrigation systems, food manufacturing technologies, appropriate education for farmers and local businessmen, fair lawsuit, and tons of money and investments

We’ve reached an era where philanthropy is seen as a business opportunity. This contradiction in terms, in ideas, is extremely dangerous. Self-betterment becomes disguised in “helping others.”

I thought this talk would be about innovative systems to combat the root causes of hunger (monocultures, draughts, etc) but instead its only about infrastructure to efficiently distribute donations. That doesn’t solve any problem but only postpone them as long as people are willing to donate.
Don’t get me wrong – social entrepreneurship is admirable but can only ever be an interim solution
