I believe in equal opportunity, not guaranteed outcomes. What we need is meritocracy, not equity. When we discriminate by race to correct disparities, we risk creating new injustices rather than real solutions. We also make a mistake when we reduce every problem to race instead of addressing broader factors that affect people of all backgrounds. The goal should be giving everyone a genuinely fair starting point—through better education, safer neighborhoods, and stable families with a present mother and father—while recognizing that individual choices and effort will always lead to different outcomes.

DEI isn’t dead. After all, voters gave a narcissistic sociopath felon the presidency for a change. The second term may have been a little over the top though.

Using Martin Luther King Jr. as a symbol for the beginning of DEI isn’t really accurate. Being judged by the “content of your character” over the color of your skin is the opposite of DEI.

    • @MelbourneArchviz

      December 18, 2025 at 3:58 pm

You may be confused by inaccurate history lessons if you think that America was ever “fair” or based on meritocracy. It was designed specifically by the founders (i.e. wealthy) to be the greatest con job on masses.

Did u not see the al sharpton vid when he went out to support costco cause of their dei initiatives handing out costco gift cards and instead of supporting buisness that have dei in practice everyone just took the cards and left and nobody shopped. The black community needs to be honest that there is a toxicity in their culture that they refuse to address and choose to blame other factors instead. They choose to murder and commit robbery at astoudingly high rates. So much so if u break down all murders and robberies in the country by race they commit a lil over 50% of all murder and robberies in the entire nation while only making up 13% of america. That is a huge anomaly and only black people can fix it. The rest of society has to lay for that huge burder to the justice system every yr and that 1 main reason reperations will mever happen. Its long been spent on the burden to society that significant lortion of the black community causes but refuses to take responsibility for.

  18. @terryl7874

    December 18, 2025 at 5:23 pm

What a load of crap. DEI tried to ram woke down Conservative throats. I couldn’t care less if someone wants to transsexual or homosexual. Just live in their own lane and I will live in mine. Blacks are equal and be successful on their own merit without rigging the system.

  26. @matt036

    December 19, 2025 at 12:18 am

Great video but always itched the wrong way about Americans talking about the “middle class”.

Like the majority of you are working class or lower working class when you compare to other countries of your financial power…. Thats all you need to know. No matter what race you are.

  30. @mac8179

    December 19, 2025 at 1:00 am

It’s not accurate to put MLK as the beginning. It’s not accurate to put Trump as the end of DEI. It was a cultural movement that people were fed up with. Trump helped it die.

  31. @chrisdt2297

    December 19, 2025 at 2:30 am

DEI as a generalized idea of direction isn’t bad, but lots of the actual policy, focus, and implementations are just laughable and so for-profit, in the eyes of a foreigner.
Also, why does US DEI sound so focused on black?
I can understand Asians, Native American, and other minorities not showing up on the talking point that often, given the low population percentage. But what about the Hispanic population? They became the largest minority group.
Because it’s more of an ethnicity, not a race?

    • @beachboysandrew

      December 19, 2025 at 6:55 pm

It has to do with electoral politics. Black voters are very important to the Democratic coalition, so Democrats prioritize their issues. Since Hispanics, Asians, and Natives aren’t as important for which political party wins, both parties tend to ignore them (sadly)

    • @chrisdt2297

      December 19, 2025 at 9:37 pm

@beachboysandrew I thought it would be the opposite, given that most blacks are guaranteed to vote for Democrats. They will focus harder on trying to get other minorities on board.

Why are you glazing DEI so much tho in some ways they went too far because when you have a quota that says you gotta hire this much people of this race sometimes you dont hire the most qualified people.

    • @toddlehman1

      December 19, 2025 at 8:29 pm

  50. @AlqoshYimedMathwatha

Hire the best person for the job. Not on the basis of skin color.

Stop being divisive and be color blind. Help end racism once and for all!

    • @rocketman-766

      December 22, 2025 at 10:21 pm

people don’t understand there’s no “objective” choice based on merit, personal bial still play big part. In room a full white management, if they have to choose between two white and black candidate with the same equal skill and value which candidate they will pick? are you pretty sure not based on skin color?

how can you make sure they will hire best person? i doubt it. In a country with history of racial segregation like US, i doubt they able to be color blind

    • @yotaruvegeta

      December 25, 2025 at 1:24 pm

That’s the issue. Companies have been guilty of bias again and again, excluding people who are qualified, but aren’t treated equally

  51. @zaharralane3753

    December 20, 2025 at 2:19 am

Since we are speaking about merit, the presidential standard is shockingly low compared to almost any job—yet it is rarely framed that way. The only qualifications are being 35 or older, a natural-born citizen, and a 14-year U.S. resident. So while he is literally falling asleep during meetings, and his appointees—like Alina Habba—are removed after courts rule their appointments unlawful, the ultimate irony is that only because of their position of power are they allowed to terminate those more credentialed and experienced than them, while facing no reciprocal accountability themselves.

    • @vvblues

      December 23, 2025 at 9:06 pm

Trump labelled DEI as woke and made woke anti-white male. Now racism and sexism are back baby. Next time someone goes for some equality and equity thing, make sure it isn’t so culturally toxic and exclusive that it might stick.

We need DEI in NBA and USA Olympics team, where Blacks are over-represented and have historically oppressed other races. We need to lower the height of basket for asians. We need black Asian white Arabic each one in Olympics relay team for equity.

  61. @joliemaui9820

    December 21, 2025 at 1:53 pm

The downfall of DEI was when we started to measure it. Companies created goals. Employees were paid bonuses if they hit certain targets.
It could’ve been a program that just made people get rid of any biases they may have hold.
Sadly, it became a contest to see who could be the best.

  62. @tomneal1789

    December 21, 2025 at 5:37 pm

There are some good points here, but author of this article is very one-dimensional in framing DEI fatigue as exclusively an anti-black reaction. No mention whatsoever of transgenderism, and how it sort of took over and stole center stage in workplace DEI trainings, forced pronoun email signatures, etc. Transgenderism, not Black people, became the point of ridicule in DEI culture that lead to the reelection of Trump, the downfall of Kamala, and led Pete Buttigieg to compare democratic gatherings to Portlandia episodes. The author also missed an opportunity to ask the question of whether the DEI industry as a whole wasn’t a “White privilege response to White privilege” – as Conor Friedersdorf argues poignantly in The Atlantic.
