Would be nice if the apple files app lets your remove downloaded (not delete) files to save space.

Biggest gripe I have with 12 pro max is the phone overheats too easily and dims out the display screen.

iPhone 12 series was terrible. Cellular performance, battery life, just overall functionality.

Apple please separate photos n video captured by camera vs other videos n photo not from the camera. Its super annoying to get it all MIXED

“Far Out” I believe will be Satellite capability baked in (but not yet turned on) for the pro models.

I just want the pro model to be lighter in future, not more than 175 grams. Eg: non-pro series model. The only reason I didn’t pick the pro model and went for 13, I don’t like a brick in my pocket specially at times of run/outdoors. And I can’t leave my phone back at home before anyone suggests it. Apple Watch cellular model has an extra 5$ charge a month from carriers which adds to the existing whole lot of subscriptions.

I am not sure why CNET has not put out these obvious requirements for everyone:
    1. Type C
    2. Fingerprint on the power button or under-display ultrasonic sensor
    3. RCS messaging adoption for my non-Apple friends, it’s actually social communication isolation by capitalism, I understand the business advantage and customer lock, but Apple shouldn’t be afraid given how far they have come now.

+ Lighter pro models, not more than 175 grams(this applies only to me, I don’t like carrying a brick while and had to went for 13 instead of pro due to this).
I believe AOD is coming, hence I didn’t put int the list

They should integrate a front camera flashlight for photos and video. They could easily upgrade the software to make like an 1/8th inch border around the screen to be a bright white and bright enough to light up the subject and it would hardly take up any screen real estate. Obviously make it True Tone. How about a multicolor LED light on the back for notifications, mood lighting, photo styles, etc. I would say that it would be great to have one on the front but with always on displays and the ability to make the screen a flashlight, you could also make it in different colors.
I honestly wish they’d just build the phone with small bezels on the top and bottom so they can put the necessary cameras, speakers, microphones and sensors. It would still look like a full screen phone if they aren’t notches into the screen and went all the way across. Imagine having stereo speakers that face you when you’re watching videos and you don’t have to cup your hand around the bottom speaker to hear it better.
How bout an e-paper/ink screen on the back to use when we need to conserve power and don’t need a 1000 nit HDRXliquadank screen to read a 5 min article or send an email.
I’d like to see them improve the microphoness in the phone. Siri and virtual assistants have a hard time understanding us because, not only are they robots, but they’re listening to us through speakerphone. I think if they used more mics and a combination of specialized frequency mics, they could pick up the subtle sounds in speech that are difficult for average mics to hear. Like the difference between “th”, “ss” and “ff” sounds, or like good and could. They could also build better software for this setup that can adjust talkback volume. Like if I’m in a quiet place, I would like Siri to match my speaking volume and not respond at max volume. Could also be used to tell how far away you are when talking and where, and can maybe even help direct sound in your direction if you’re on a call.
I feel bad for coders that have to teach virtual assistants to understand poor pronunciation. Speaking to English people mostly. “Hey, Siri. Set a reminder for John’s birFday in TREE MUMFS.” Translation: birTHday, 3 MONTHS hahaha or they’ll say “FREE MUMFS” Definitely some parts of America struggle with pronunciation too but not the entire country. That’s brutal for a machine to have to listen for a whole sentence for it to understand it needs to replace entire words with different ones. Some words are already doubled and tripled up and y’all gotta mix up words for no reason? When you guys read, do you hear yourself sayin “ff” when you see “th”? Do you hear free in your head when you see 3?
Whoa, kinda went off on a tangent there haha

For the iPhone 6S owners and the iPhone 7 owners who skipped buying or too late to buy one of the iPhone 12 models and one of the iPhone 13 models by the eventual announcement on October 2020 and September 2021, they might going to buy one of the iPhone 14 models when the iOS 16 drops support for the iPhone 6S with it’s Plus variant and the iPhone 7 with it’s Plus variant.

You cannot dismiss the rumour of the the four iPhone 14 models being the iPhone 14, the iPhone 14 Max, the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max as being a mere rumour. The reason is that Apple widely circulate the size details of their new models each year before the event for people like case manufacturers. These CAD files leak and so the renders of new iPhones as early as June each year are reliable. All hail Jon Prosser!.

Currently have the 13 pro max in Sierra blue, a colour I love. I would like to see apple ditch the dreary, dated space grey for a matte black. In terms of camera improvements – distortion on the ultra wide lens needs to be fixed. Auto focus needs to be better in poor lighting, and of course a longer optical zoom. Titanium chassis has been mooted, that would be welcome if it took 10 grams or so off the weight. Doubt we’ll see that many improvements, so I it’s likely I’ll be holding out for the 15…

Surviving the early days as an AI startup isn’t just about making the technology work, it’s about hiring the right people, avoiding costly mistakes, and standing out in a crowded market.

This week on Build Mode, Isabelle Johannessen sits down with Jaspar Carmichael-Jack, founder and CEO of Artisan, a fast-growing AI startup building AI employees for sales. Best known for its viral “Stop Hiring Humans” campaign, Artisan is rethinking outbound sales with AI, while still betting on hiring exceptional human talent.

In this episode, they break down what it really takes to build and scale a venture-backed AI company, from Y Combinator to rapid growth.

This conversation covers:
→ Startup hiring mistakes every founder should avoid
→ Lessons on firing, team building, and company culture in early-stage startups
→ The strategy behind bold, controversial marketing that drives growth
→ How AI is transforming sales, hiring, and the future of work
→ What founders get wrong about the necessary roles needed for a scaling startup

This conversation gets to the heart of building a startup: making the right hires early or paying for it later.

Apply to Startup Battlefield: We are looking for early-stage companies that have an MVP. So nominate a founder (or yourself): techcrunch.com/apply. Be sure to say you heard about Startup Battlefield from the Build Mode podcast.
