If it was about Game Pass, they would have given that more emphasis than they did. I really feel like they’ve put themselves into a corner and can’t get out of it now by making sure games also run on current gen. There were literally maybe 2 instances through the entire show where the graphics impressed to a degree. But let’s face it, we’re never completely impressed until we see in-game footage. As for Halo, that showed nothing to my eyes that couldn’t be done on current gen. So why upgrade to the next gen console?

      July 24, 2020 at 9:39 am

More emphasis? You don’t think that it being plastered all over the games trailers and mentioned at least twice is enough? That’s the one single biggest thing that most people took away from this – that Game Pass is key to their strategy. All those games available day and date for the price of a take-away each month…I can forgive the fact that day one games don’t look much better than current gen because that’s the generation they were developed in.

@Graham Potter you sound like an idiot lol, nobody listening to the stupid narrative you’re spinning so just stop. 🤣

X Box literally just bought 12 studios and had an event focused on its EXCLUSIVES. This video is just damage control…

    • Scaryonline

      July 24, 2020 at 11:34 am

No. Its a bad idea for xbox to do it with few studio. Look at Netflix. They make 3 movies or series every 1 year. Over time they people will get bored of their xbox games pass line up. Look at sony in the other hand. 3 to 4 huge games. Every year. And in the trailer most of their games aren’t as interesting as fable or halo. Xbox should aquire new studios over time or they will never beat sony in the long run. Even if they bought 12 studios their studios aren’t as professional as sony studios. Their studios are monsters. Look at the game they made. How much graphic they pushed. Its insane. Those studios are still working for over 20 years. None of xbox studio will be able to reach their strength in one year. They will have to publish over 6 games to reach their enemy skill

I’m waiting right now to buy the Xbox Series X, I own the One X now, and a Regular Xbox One… My goal since the beginning of the year was that im going to get the Series X.. Then the world went crazy with everything. I’m ready to buy the machine now or at least get the preorder started. I hope any day now it will happen

I have the Ultimate Game Pass Subscription
It’s a very fun thing to have…its only $14.99 each month

    • Graham Potter

      July 24, 2020 at 8:58 am

If you can afford to upgrade there’s little argument against it. Just because day one things may not look significantly different, there are additional benefits from having new hardware. I’ve just sold my Xbox Series X for £300 and my PS4 Pro for £250 so that’s a Series X plus a few months of Game Pass. I’ll also get a PS5 for those exclusives, but Series X will be my main gaming platform. To tide me over between now and then (I’m on a bit of a gaming hiatus at the moment) GeForce Now on my nVidia Shield is providing literally free low-tier gaming right now.

    • The Batosai

      July 24, 2020 at 1:57 pm

Why would you buy a new Xbox when you can play it on PC? Also, if the graphics are not an issuse why upgrade?

    • Joshua Spano

      July 24, 2020 at 3:19 pm

@The Batosai cause people prefer the console experince than sitting at a desk. I know I do and gamespass is the reason I stay with Xbox

The PC trolls are here too. I’d take any console any day over the pc for gaming. For many reasons, and yes I own a higher end pc.

      July 24, 2020 at 1:54 pm

@Yashasvee Dilliwar this guy is saying he owns a higher end PC, now tell me how do you even justify buying xbox if – 1. PC can play the same games and 2. more

Sony has the traditional game console on lock. Nintendo has the handheld department and their legacy IP on lock. Microsoft had no choice but to go this service route. You gotta stand out because Sony ain’t going anywhere soon. 🤷🏿‍♂️

    • Joshua Spano

      July 24, 2020 at 3:28 pm

Exactly Microsoft wanted to seperate themselves from the others I am a gamespass user and I get my money’s worth. So for me I like having options and alternatives for people. Everybody wants something different but gamespass works for me.

  14. The Batosai

    July 24, 2020 at 1:55 pm

I love how Microsoft position their self’s to not really talk about the lack luster games and why you should buy the next console. Others than than, “we got gamepass.”

    Me : Ok Netflix jr.

  15. Christopher D

    July 24, 2020 at 2:06 pm

I’ve owned the Xbox One X and now own a PS4 Pro. I’ve always wanted both consoles, but if the PS5 is going to continue the trend of PS4 exclusivity with the same quality and variety I’m going with the PS5. However I’m still watching Xbox space to see when/if I should buy the Xbox Series. FYI, I love single player games like Last Of Us 2 and just always enjoy the single player campaigns COD, Assassin’s Creed etc. They only game I play online if FIFA and that’s rear.

  16. Oboewan

    July 24, 2020 at 4:03 pm

If it’s all about Gamepass, then don’t make a console. Make a stream box or just go game publisher and put your games on everything.

    • Steven Paniagua

      July 24, 2020 at 4:28 pm

But then the price would have to increase. There were talks about putting gamepass on the switch but they couldn’t come to an agreement. I’m going to guess revenue split.

These last two years Xbox has made almost as much money as Sony has because of the subscriptions on its console.

    • Kill54bunnies

      July 25, 2020 at 3:48 pm

We are at least 5 years from that happening idiot

  17. Blu PhoeNicks

    July 24, 2020 at 4:37 pm

Game pass is anti-consumer – they’re trying to make sure we never Actually own any games so we’re forever dependent on game pass – i let my bff and nephews borrow games all the time and especially my little nephews appreciate it – eventually we’re not going to own anything we buy anymore

    • Rift Salty

      July 24, 2020 at 11:38 pm

It’s not anti consumer at all Jesus it’s like $1 a month right now for AAA games

    • Blu PhoeNicks

      July 25, 2020 at 6:34 am

@Rift Salty it is a great deal trust me I know – my issue is you don’t own it. I like owning the things I buy, not just infinitely renting. I just feel like there’s a huge move in consumerism away from owning products and infinite renting services

    • Rift Salty

      July 25, 2020 at 2:47 pm

Blu PhoeNicks well you can see what games are joining and leaving every month, so it is nice that they let you know what to play before it goes, and lately they’ve been getting rid of the crappier games for better ones IMO. I can definitely see from your perspective too though

  23. Ben-DubZ

    July 24, 2020 at 10:15 pm

Well with how disappointing the showcase was, I’ll be moving over to Sony, after being with xbox since the 360. What’s the point of a top end console, if most of their stuff focuses on last gen/ipad type of games. It’s like having a state of the art aircraft carrier with no jets (mind blowing fresh exclusives). No point in all that power, if you don’t have the goods to start with. Phil Spencer needs a reality check as yet again xbox are going to lose a second console war. Xbox one started great with Tomb raider, Dead rising 3 and Ryse Son of Rome. The 360 was great! I honestly can say Phil Spencer isn’t on this planet, for what is expected by today’s standards.

Will these games be available on PC game pass?

    • Raheb

all first party title games will be available on Game Pass (both PC and Xbox)

  25. GenreOnline

    July 24, 2020 at 11:57 pm

Thanks Jeff. I honestly think Game Pass is the future of XBOX because software services are Microsoft’s bread and butter. With physical media on life support, I think Game Pass is the future for Microsoft and the consoles will become just Sony and Nintendo.

Loving xbox game pass & the xbox ecosystem I don’t gotta upgrade my xbox one s. It’s my first & last xbox console it’s been 2 years I enjoyed the experience. I’ll keep my xbox one s till it’s no longer supported, I’m definitely buying the PlayStation 5 I enjoyed the PlayStation 4 as well I enjoy both consoles.🥂😏

  28. Kevin Rosales

    July 25, 2020 at 3:03 pm

I had that same thought. It felt like it was an event for Gamepass. They didn’t try to sell the hardware, they tried to sell us game pass. You can tell by the fact that Halo had no visual “thunder”, it looked like it was being played on a current console. I felt like they didn’t do a good job at convincing me to buy a Series X. I love the new exclusives they announced but Halo is your crown jewel and Microsoft did not give it the respect it deserved. Don’t get me wrong, happy to see halo gameplay, but those visuals did not impress. It felt like they just showed it to say that it will be in gamepass.

    • Kill54bunnies

      July 25, 2020 at 3:42 pm

THEY ARE MAKING THE NETFLIX OF GAMING.

    • Kevin Rosales

      July 25, 2020 at 5:39 pm

Kill54bunnies i understand that and that’s great, but this wasn’t a game pass event this was an event for how games will look like on series x and what games will be coming out for series x. I loved that they showed us new exclusives, but halo is the crown jewel of this event and they didn’t deliver in the next gen visuals.

    • Raheb

      July 26, 2020 at 10:52 am

Watch the gameplay trailer, the demo is apparently an older build!

    • Kevin Rosales

      July 26, 2020 at 2:24 pm

Raheb why show an inferior build for one of the most important games during one of the most important events for Xbox? This was a misstep that they need to correct.

    • Raheb

      July 26, 2020 at 3:10 pm

Kevin Rosales I don’t know mate. Ask that Xbox.

  29. Nate Mauratt

    July 25, 2020 at 4:07 pm

Already trying to change the narrative because they are going to lose this generation too

  30. Moh J

    July 25, 2020 at 7:56 pm

That’s the correct strategy for xbox, because they simply can’t compete with Sony when it comes to exclusives.

the problem is the pc game pass i still locked on the regions !!

  32. BeastModeJelly

Game Pass Ultimate can kiss my @$$
I want my $60 12 months Xbox live membership because I’m a online player who BUY games on release day.

I don’t want to pay $15 a month ($180 a year plus taxes) to play 100s of indie games or games that released years before they’re in Game Pass.

  33. BeastModeJelly

    July 26, 2020 at 2:40 pm

12 months Xbox live for $60 is what I want.😤😡

  34. Face Duro

    July 26, 2020 at 11:19 pm

I personally preferred Xbox to be honest, I’ve technically never been a loyalist since day one I always change consoles over time in my past…

But as I get older which I’m 34 lol I want the ultimate experience in just 1 console brand, I feel the Xbox brand for me is the way to go, Halo and Gears is what got me completely hooked and Xbox Live service in my opinion is the best overall service for online gaming…

Game Pass is by far the best service that Xbox Brand has to offer comparing what Nintendo Switch and Playstation 4 and 5 has to offer I’m not going to stress that enough, I just want to see more out of Game Pass but overall it has been the best thing to have to be able to play games downloaded and play it without the need of cloud is awesome, now I know there’s Xcloud but I’m not too keen on it until they improve the WiFi situation to be able to play games without lag and stuff I know it’s something that it’s being worked on and I know Cloud gaming is the Future but as long as we have Game Pass as an alternative while we wait for a true Cloud experience I say Xbox is the way to go, I personally not an exclusive junky anyway I’m just a gamer that wants to play any games I can get my hands on…

I’m an Xbox fan indeed and I respect and other brands pushing for greater heights in gaming, but I’m sticking to Xbox Series X hoping for the pre Orders to start soon….

  35. Rahul Arora

    July 27, 2020 at 8:38 am

People really don’t understand that microsoft really doesn’t care if you are buying consoles because they are relatively sold at a loss no matter which console it is. The revenue is genrated through services, no matter where you play you are ultimately playing a xbox game through game pass and after launching xcloud there will be no looking back, you may not buy series x but you will definitely not cancel your game pass subscription as of now and the xbox games showcase was more directed towards game pass and it’s true value. It wasn’t about series x and it’s graphical capabilities but more about game pass and how every game shown in the showcase will be available day 1 on gamepass.
I am not a xbox fanboy in any way and i thought the xbox game showcase was very underwhelming, i may not be buying the series x but i will definitely not cancel my game pass subscription.

exactly my brother. since we care about AAA experience game, its doesn’t make since to support gamepass. People really expect de devellopers are gonna still produce game like botw, god of war, hzd, darksoulm spider-man with les revenu. i don’t want to be stuck with just AA title

  37. Lucid

    July 28, 2020 at 1:30 am

Isn’t it funny how every xbox exclusive is on gamepass for pc players then the xbox series x looks like a pc which is weird because if gamepass is a thing why is there a xbox consle
