I wish you had commented on the vibration strength. None of the reviewers really seem to cover that and it was far too weak on the Galaxy Watch 4.

    • Allen Altland

      August 25, 2022 at 5:50 pm

nobody really cares about the vibration strength.
IMO the vibration is annoying and I wish they would just remove it.

    • Will

      August 25, 2022 at 6:16 pm

@Allen Altland “Nobody”. That’s a pretty bold insinuation. Do you have any data to back that up? Did you take a poll of all Galaxy Watch users? Did you conduct a peer-reviewed study? Are you somehow unable to fathom that some people might actually want to know when they get a notification on their watch? Ther’s a reason the Apple Watch is so popular. It essentially taps your wrist when you get a notification. It’s very pronounced, yet subtle. Perhaps do a little research before spouting off with inane claims.

      August 25, 2022 at 6:17 pm

@Lexy Savvides Thanks, Lexy. That’s too bad. I was hoping they might get a little closer to the Apple Watch. Not sure why all of the Wear offerings have such weak vibration motors.

I have had mine for 4 days now and have not missed a single notification. I don’t have any prior experiance with prior watches but with this one you can chage the vibration pattern from 10+ patterns and it could be turned up in intensity too, mine is mid and I get them all. Hope this helps a bit mate.

@Wesley Smith thanks for the feedback

I don’t understand why this reviews are more geared to people that just seat around and if you think about it only maybe 20% of the people care about faces and all the blah. People care about the battery life and actual real life test.

I have had the watch 5 40mm version for 4 days now. For me, I am using about 50% of the battery in 24hrs. Mine is the LTE version and I am not a super active guy, 30mins of activity is about my max. I do have it track my sleep and all notifications vibrate well. The biggest battery helper is to turn of always on and to disable the gesture. this makes so you have to either tough the screen or side button to awake the screen. I have not been inconvenienced yet by this and is giving me a device that fits my schedule. Hope this helps mate!

Battery technology needs to advance before we see any significant improvements with the smartwatch features turned.

So pointless to say “40 hours!” If all you can do is tell time.

the physical bezel made it special
    the touch bezel sucks
my old watch had a bezel, the new does not, and the difference makes the new feels bad because the bezel was a great input method, better than the touch screen

    • Wesley Smith

      August 25, 2022 at 8:41 pm

I don’t use the bezel at all, in fact i disabled it. i just scroll through via swiping, though I don’t really have many things to go through to be honest.

Didn’t go for Watch 4 as was holding out on Watch 5 series due to larger battery size rumours, but due to the other specs being the same and no smaller size for the 5 Pro/lack of a nice looking, small watch size offering, that can still provide a long battery life whilst using GPS for most of a day for hiking; I’m skipping this generation and waiting to see what the Watch 6 series offers.

Pretty pathetic from Samsung. Still doesn’t fully work with non Samsung phones. Extensive tests have shown that the watch 5 has worse battery life than the 4 and also less accurate fitness sensors.

have had this watch for 4 days now, and I am using about 50% a day usage with it recharging in the morning while I shower. I have the LTE version and track my sleep. I haven’t really used it a lot and I don’t work out more than 30 min walk. I have the “always on” off and have it set to wake with my touch not gesture.

    • rickeyanthony

The cheaper one isn’t even close to the expansive one lmao

    • pumpuppthevolume

      August 27, 2022 at 3:17 pm

@rickeyanthony the expensive one used to have a rotating bezel …that was better ….now the expensive model doesn’t have it just like the cheap version …..all it has is ugly sticking out bezel edge

Can I use google map if the watch is not connected to phone and the watch lte version?

      Yes you can

    • Mateusz Dudek

      August 27, 2022 at 12:25 pm

@Gabriel thank you for you answer but I recived official answer from samsung. They informed that watch can not use google map if it is not connected with phone by bluetooth. So your answer is not incorrect.

    • Gabriel

      August 27, 2022 at 7:46 pm

@Mateusz Dudek I don’t know what they’re telling you but i can use gps with lte while phone is at home when doing biking

The only one reason why samsung replace galaxy watch classic version and prefer non rotating bezel that’s actually because they want looks same as google pixel watch and that watch will arrived along together Google pixel 7 lineup.

  25. Martyn Massop

    August 26, 2022 at 12:16 am

What size are you wearing? I don’t think you said in the video. Just that you were using Watch 4 40mm before which didn’t last 24 hours.

    • Lexy Savvides

      August 26, 2022 at 2:02 am

I did say! It’s ok if you missed it though! 40mm

    • Martyn Massop

      August 26, 2022 at 2:16 am

@Lexy Savvides so you did, thanks! Completely missed that at the start of the battery section.

  26. Eddy Alvarenga

    August 26, 2022 at 12:30 am

Lexi, you forgot to mention the annoying general PIN for using Samsung or Google Pay. I am coming from the Gears S3 and only used the Pin when using the app, now anytime I want to use the phone I have to unlock it with the Pin instead of justhaving to use it to open the G Pay.
I cannot use the watch to pay for anything anymore so I disabled NFT and unistalled G Pay.
    Very disappointed.

When will a watch with a 16:9 aspect ratio display come out. They have folding screens now, I would like something bigger that fits the curve of my wrist better. Etc.

You can also plug in the USB-C charger into your phone or tablet and use it as a powerbank

  31. Andre

    August 27, 2022 at 4:04 am

That was an excellent review thank you for that, one question. Does the watch still protrude off of the edge of your wrist my Galaxy watch 4 44 mm sticks off my wrist a slight bit is the five a better fit?

  32. Abi Nubli

    August 27, 2022 at 4:41 am

The point of roatating bezel is to interact without touching the display. So, when they get rid of it it doens;t makes any sense to simulate the rotating bezel. Just touch the damn display
