*People, hear this directly:* a chatbot nearly sent armed U.S. service members onto a Chinese ship in the middle of the Iran war because its output was false and the analyst who used it passed the report up the chain, and the only reason a shooting war with China did not begin this spring is that someone dug deeper at the last minute and discovered the report was AI-generated and “entirely false.” This is not a hypothetical about the future. This is what happened. The same labs that are telling you on CNN and the BBC that their systems are not fully controlled are shipping those same systems into intelligence pipelines that feed live military operations. They warn you in public and deploy in the kill chain in private. *The record is public, the sources are named, and the consequence was one signature away.* The window is not waiting for them to decide whether they mean it.
