How to Make a YouTube Video in 1987
Decades before software like Premiere and iMovie made video editing cheap, easy, and accessible for everyone, the only option was chaining a conglomerate of vintage 80s technology – multiple camcorders or VCRs and a TV – to craft custom analog video. Then the Videonics system changed tech history forever. With professional-grade setups costing up to…

The $68 Million Instant Movie Disaster (Polavision)
Nearly 50 years ago, the Polavision camera blended Polaroid’s revolutionary instant film with on-demand home video – and the result was a landmark advance in analog technology that would become a mystery of science and a winding international journey into vintage tech. Because now, generations after Edwin Land bet his half-century legacy of innovation and…

They found them in the ocean and just said it was mantle rocks. Because we have never drilled that deep. Not even close.

There’s no way they drilled it up cause of heat. How did they find it? Or did we unlock new tech to drill that deep?

One, bullshit. We collect mantle pieces from lava bombs all the time, they are common in any area that had some explosive volcanic activity, it’s not the first time. Two, olivine is very common in mantle rocks, and this core sample was extracted from the sea floor, so of course it’s going to have extra magnesium present. Three, the only really thing interesting was how deep and long the core sample was, and it can shed light some some of the tectonic processes ove time. Four, the life supposition is just an offhand hypothesis on chemical composition versus hydrogen generation and remark for consumption as dumb science media for fools to justify why they would do this. Five, the principle of uniformitarianism almost doesn’t apply here for the chemistry aspects, because the conditions currently are vastly different from the Earth ~3.7 billion years ago when life is believed to have first started to form.

Drilling into the mantel is as dangerous as fracking. But whatever. We stupid ants swarming the whole world might be experiencing the favorable situation of extermination our ant life.

How? The farthest humans have ever drilled is about 1/3rd of the way through the crust. This sounds like BS

They drilled this hole in the ocean, not land.
