I still use a 5 years old Note 5 ! for me it’s the best phone in history

When I met my husband, we both had a Note phone – we both loved the edge feature and the whole feel of the phone. Well, I’m not saying that’s why I fell in love with him, but it didn’t hurt his chances either! Fast forward to when we got the Note 8 – we were happily married by then and still sharing our love for all things Note. We vowed to hold onto the phones for as long as we could because the phones worked for us and in time there were no Notes to buy. Until a few days ago. We both pre-ordered the S22 Ultra. I went for the sky blue model with matching blue pen. His first choice, Graphite, sold out so he ordered the black version. We have weeks to go until we retire our Note 8’s – they serve us well and we’ll begrudgingly send them back to Samsung – and then we’ll be thrilled about our new toy, the S22 Ultra. Since it’ll be updated for the next 4 years, we plan on keeping the devices for a while.

My first phone that I bought, was a used Note3, since than I sticked with the Note line. Had a Note4 for some month, than a Note8, than a Note10+. Right now I am really looking forward to try the S22 Ultra, maybe it will replace my Note10+.

Just because it’s not called a Note doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. The S22 Ultra is literally a recycled N20U with a different back. The S22 IS A NOTE

    REST IN POWER NOTE
Been a fan ever since 2011 release of N7000 (Note 1) and used all of them and have 5 of them currently now. Still use one and mom does too. Will be missed but still for us die hard fans S22 Ultra will be Note except the cover up name. S was always inferioir to Note and samsung indirectly kept it that way

I started with an S3 but fell in love with the Note since then. From Note 3, Note 4, Note 8 and now Note 20 Ultra, I’ve loved the experience. I’ve had to get my Note 4 repaired at some point and they gave me a loaner S4, I thought I wouldn’t miss the stylus but I did. I’ll forever be a Note fan even if they axe the branding. Because for all intents and purposes, the S22 Ultra is a Note. And I wouldn’t change my mind about that.

S22 Ultra is a Note in all but name. I think Samsung had the new Note and S22 Ultra prototypes, decided they were too similar and made the decision to keep one. Which is probably the reason why the phone looks closer to the Note 20 Ultra, than the S21 ultra.

2010 to 2015 iPhone 4 beautiful phone but no SDcard, still works.

2015 to 2020 Note 4 big & beautiful screen with SDcard, after 3 batteries now is dead. Will spend money to bring back to life.

2020 to 2025 A71 5G much better software with SDcard, if necessary will learn to swap sealed battery.

2025 to 2030 Note 25Plus UltraSuperior wait what.. Note dies at the young age of 20 🤦🤯😵👎probably no SDcard. If you don’t have an SDcard in your phone you will lose your stuff when it dies unexpectedly. If you do have an SDcard just take it out of your dead phone and put it on your new phone.

When the time comes will buy whatever Samsung hasn’t still neutered.

Ps. The best devices have an SDcard slot…. and a stylus.

Thank you for this video. I’ve owned the Notes 5, 9 and have a 20 Ultra Plus on the way. I love the S-Pen and its enhanced capabilities, so I’m excited to know it’s on the way. Anybody who doesn’t understand the appeal should watch Sakitech videos about the various Galaxy Notes and S-Pen functions.
The note name may disappear, but the retained S-Pen functions applicable to the S series is comforting, because it shows growth by retaining what some consumers like: Samsung is giving us more options.

To this day I think the coral blue with gold accents Note 7 has been the best looking phone ever. To bad I had to return it.

So far I’ve had most Note phones , except the 8 and 9(switched to the s cycle) and now I’ve moved on to the z fold 3. So far, so good.

oh the trouble i got into with my Note 4 IR blaster… good times.😏

I figure the idea of a selfie cam on a popup stylus (removing the ‘hole-punch’) might become popular; since you could also use such a ‘pen’ to view things like a cracked molar or something that rolled under your seat.
I think the option of a set of different, some more capable, styluses and the use of a phonecase instead to hold your favorite stylus of the day might make more sense as well.

p.s. Remove the camera bump! Make them thicker with more battery instead !

I still have plans for my obsolete Note 4, using it as a multi-light source for a set of fibreoptics to my 1:500 model airport/tgauge trainset.. because its OLED screen can still do it.

There still might be a FE note. End of the year budget stylus supported phone maybe?

But they used to call the s-pen enabled tablets notes back on the day. Now they just include Spen support in flagship tablets and the occasional budget tabs. That’s what happening to the note phones. Removing the name and adding s-pen support

I am so sick of people quoting diagonal screen size, without also comparing aspect ratios. Screen area is a much more useful/truthful metric, but even it shouldn’t be the only one discussed. These people are supposed to be experts.

I had a Note 4 that lasted me 5 years. It hardly even seemed dated until about the last year. I loved the fact it had not only a big screen at the time, but a wider one. I couldn’t justify a top of the line phone when my Note died so I bought a s10e, and I immediately missed the screen of my Note 4. Even though newer phones often have a bigger diagonal screen measurement, they often don’t have as much screen real estate. A 5.8″ screen with a 19:9 aspect ratio actually has less screen than 5.7″ screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio. the 16:9 aspect ratio is something I miss dearly in both phones and tablets. Of course the s22 ultra has a much bigger screen overall, and it does look to have a slightly less elongated aspect ratio than most top end phones.
And of course I miss the stylus. I never used it daily, but I still miss it for certain tasks – like jotting down quick notes to myself, or annotating pictures with any kind of detail. It’s a unique tool that you can’t replace very well with anything else.

  53. LIANG JERRY

    February 13, 2022 at 11:05 am

S22 Ultra cannot be a NOTE with a shrink screen, missing SD Card Slot, missing that technology Flagship Premium feel that NOTE never fails to bring to its owner even on the NOTE 7, not introducing a gimmicky camera and passed off as NOTE. NOTE is a Power Business device, that’s how it succeed even over failure on NOTE 7, customers still holds the faith. NOTE is the breed that draws the crowd to Samsung, especially the business power users. Anyway, as a BIG TECH Samsung should announce officially to their Premium users that NOTE will be dropped, so that owners can move on. I believe many brands will like to pick up NOTE premium owners in their customers data as these category chose most advance techs over price.

So sad. I’ve owned the Note 3 & Note 8. Both lasted 3 or more years before replacement. I truly believe that is because they were always built far above the phones of their day for tech. Cameras, battery, etc. The s-pen has always been my main driver. Today I pre-ordered my new S22ultra to replace my Note 8. I’m going to miss having expanded storage. I’ll always remember the Note for pushing cell phones to new heights including the company that made fun of its size. Then they came out with Max phones. Lol

I had the Note 4 and was happy with it, I now have the wonderful Note 10., Before then I was always a note-taker, I had leather organizers back in early 2000s and the Casiopia, a digital organizer with a built-in pen, also the Dell Axim which was similar, so yes, I’M A TRUE NOTE – TAKER .

I had a note 8 loved it, and decided to upgraded to s21 ultra mainly for the cameras and s pen support, ok I know there is nowhere to put the pen bit then I bought the supcase unicorn beetle with pen holder and BAM!!! I have a high end note again and also a larger s pen because with my big hands I did struggle with the smaller standard S pen. I love this phone don’t like the look of the new s22 ultra love the camera bump on s21 ultra makes it distinctive

  59. Aarav Chawla

    February 13, 2022 at 3:24 pm

Personally, I think it’s a bad decision by Samsung of killing the Note, I had an S3 then a 5s then an S7 Edge then I wanted to try something new, something that looks so sleek and powerful so I went with the Note10+ Aura Glow, and I REALLY LOVE IT! It was a great change, and I love the S Pen. Hearing its death, I was so sad. Ya know the Note had a different fanbase which was great. I want the Note name to be back, keep the S22 Ultra named as the Note S22 Ultra or the S22 Ultra Note and I would buy it 🙂

  60. Ahmed Zouari

I guess they are making a huge mistake by killing the note lineup, in fact i am a huge fan of the note series , i had the note 3 ,4 and 9 . And until this day i think that the note 9 was the best note ever released .
I even kept all my note phones expect the note 3 . I don t consider this new s22 ultra as a new phone despite the fact it has an s pen , the pricing is so high , no charger in the box , no sd card slot , no new innovations or functions .
It feels like samsung is going backwards 😞

I don’t mind it, I actually think Samsung needs to keep consolidating their phone lines. I appreciate all of the options we have from budget to mid-range to flagship phones but I’m sorry we don’t need 30 mid-range models, 60 budget models, and 3 flagship models. There needs to be a most 12 models to choose from.

Nope. I don’t trust owning the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.

I happily owned iPhone 13 Pro Max last year.

When I was a teenager 10 years ago, I owned the first Samsung Galaxy Note phone being described as the handheld gaming console counterpart to my 2012 white Xbox 360 console with hands-free Kinect gaming.

  73. Bronxtaskforce1

    February 14, 2022 at 12:01 am

Samsung released this phone to make money. It’s not a true Note. It lacks MicroSD Card capabilites. With OTA at whopping 903 megs of storage each time and the application updates not counting HD 4k and 8k videos and HD photos on the phone, users will complain of storage. Give it a few weeks. I have a Note 4 I would install the latest Android.

  74. Christopher

    February 14, 2022 at 12:18 am

It is the end only in name. In terms of form and features the note lives on. The built in S pen is about to become a headlining feature again for their brand. I think 🤔 they will finally listen to users and add it to the fold 4 as well. The S users should be the ones mourning the loss.

  75. WASTEOFTIMESTUDIOS

    February 14, 2022 at 3:09 am

They simply renamed the Note and killed the S line, that’s my belief and I’m sticking to it. People who loved the Note sometimes did it over the s-pen, sometimes over the slightly higher specs over the S, in a way no real loss losing the S, people who don’t want to use s-pen can leave it docked, and those who live it have it as they airways did. In conclusion rip S, welcome back Note.

You can’t replace the note with something doesn’t support SD card

Farewell? The S22 Ultra is a complete Note phone, just minus the name. What on earth are you talking about “farewell?”

My family has owned note 3 , note 9, note 10 lite and several galaxy s . I actually think keeping the name galaxy s22 ultra for the note is a smart thing actually. This way they can also bring s pen to lower cost phones like a series , which i am hoping for

I started with the Galaxy Note 4 in 2014 because it had the largest screen available and Verizon had a deal with the NFL to watch games. I got spoiled by the screen size and S-pen. I upgraded to Note 8, then Note 10 and finally Note20 Ultra 5G. I just pre-ordered the Galaxy S22 Ultra – it seems like that will be the next generation of the Note phone. There’s an S-pen along with a pen slot. I still have my Galaxy Note 4.

I love that idea to have the best camera and the S-pen in one device.

    Me iPhone 3G -> Galaxy Note 4 -> S7+ -> S8+ -> S10+ -> Z Fold 3 512 gb ( Trading in ) -> S22 Ultra 1 TB Red and Tab S8 Ultra 512 gb bundle.

I need the battery life I think the Z Fold series will be amazing in several generations lacking battery I get 4 or less hours of it, S Pen holder, cameras at work will edit later

They stopped selling the 1tb model for the ultra. Samsung told me they won’t be restocking it again, and it was a kinda of special addition? So it’s not really a note replacement without the SD card slot 😕

Be patient, folks. Don’t rush out and buy the S22 Ultra on impulse alone. It’s a trick. It’s just the Note21 Ultra that was never released — a FULL YEAR OLD DEVICE! You’ll feel mighty stupid next year when the “real S22” (as the S23) will be released with a 200MP camera.

The Note line was introduced in 2011 not 2012 🤦‍♂️

The reason why phones got bigger and bitter is because note existence, note really was a massive game changer, note 8 was a huge likeable phone
    Note 9 was okay though
Note 10 was pretty big but since phones has been now copying notes screen sizes it just didn’t feel as special, and now note has ended.
    Also performance were decently good
