    The English Bitter is my favorite style of beer. It’s a shame you cant get much of it across the pond in America. Since it’s traditionally served on Cask, its less common in America. The beers on cask in America seem to be mostly fruity or lactose IPA’s. Timothy Taylor’s Landlord might be one of the best English Bitters!

    Doppelbock (or rather – Koźlak Dubeltowy) has to be my favourite. I love the darker tone of it, without going too deep in chocolate and coffee flavours. I guess it goes in line with my love for strong tea and a strong hatred of coffee.

      One of my local breweries did use oysters in a gose beer… It was way too salty for my taste though. I’m sure it would be much better in a porter / stout described in the video.

    which are sweeter but not too sweet and rich in flavor but not bitter or less bitter?

      Check out a Belgian Tripel for something that most people not looking for too sweet or too bitter go for. Also Saison/Farmhouse ales are often flowery but if they are standard they are very drinkable but not sweet and if they don’t say hopped anywhere on the container are also not bitter at all. Brown ales might also be what you’re looking for. I find them plain, but they are easy drinking, slightly malty but not sweet or bitter beers. Some of them are sweetened slightly though which may be what you’re looking for.

    for those who want to pronounce “Urquell” correctly: it’s something along the lines of “oor-kwell” (the ‘oo’ pronounced as in the noun ‘moor’)

    I used to like all sorts of beer types, but then I got into IPA. Its both delicious and seems to ruin your love/palette for other beers. Portland, Oregon is like Mecca for us IPA lovers.

    I heard wheat wine… and instantly started looking up recipes. I do 2.5G batches and like to take my time. THAT will be fantastic for spring… I am a newb and really know nothing… but I learn more about beer everyday. It is a fun ride. (One beer makes me wobbly… I have never drank much… like 2 to 6 drinks a year. I am learning so much! IPA’s and dark ales are high on my list of things I enjoy.) I want to brew and try all the things now. 😀

    Really informative video, but the choppiness of the editing gave me a headache. Constantly chopping between very short unnecessary clips really detracts. I’d rather it was more of him talking

    You’ll make a lot of casual beer drinking Belgians happy by mentioning Duvel and the Trappist beers… but the real Belgian crown beers are indeed the Lambics and derivatives. They are so underrated in our own country, it’s unbelievable.

    For someone with a short span of attention, I am surprised I watched the whole thing . I am even more surprised to realize I’ve tried so many of these styles and variations.
