Do we invest billions in a never ending ever growing charity or do we start over and prevent charity cases from every happening seems like that saves money in the long run.

    It will never happen.

No thanks. That is extreme quarantine life. Worst than current 2020.

Right? So much of the training for those first humans that travel to Mars is going to be around isolation and the effects of such extended missions…

I see some of the commentators in here never saw Star Trek or understood it’s mission… 🙄

There is no place like home, the Earth. Take good care of it. But that doesn’t mean we won’t want to venture elsewhere for adventure. It’s amazing how far we come and how much more we still need to go before we can have the journey to land a human on Mars.

This series just keeps getting better and better. Claire Reilly is the Robert Stack of dystopian speculative scenarios. Keep up the great work!

I don’t want to move to California, Texas, the City, the South, Canada, Florida smh none of the above lmao I want to perform a rock concert on the Moon and build a residence, be a homeowner, establish a career and start a family on Mars!!!

This reminds me of the huge jars they found on earth.
Wonder if those jars are actually something like this and not actually jars, just a odd thought.

Some of the videos have been kind of quaky topics but some are good like this one. Probably was cheap to produce

I wouldn’t mind living in the Marsha house right here on earth, it’s probably cheaper than a regular house.

They’re actually creating a similar structure on Earth called ‘Tera’ – similar design and super futuristic looking. I’m definitely keen to stay there!

  19. Claire Reilly

    July 10, 2020 at 7:27 pm

So many astronauts talk about how travelling into space gives them a new appreciation for life on Earth. I wonder whether an extended mission to Mars would make someone yearn for life back on Earth? I personally don’t think I could get over the travel time…

Just imagine all of the people who can’t even put on a face mask when shopping. Now imagine these same people living on Mars. They won’t even last an hour without taking off their space suits and getting killed in the Martian atmosphere.

So sad to see he doesn’t mention we can use a gravity assist at Venus to travel to mars and back more often and faster. Why anyone is still looking at the 26 month long gap between launches directly to mars is puzzling.

The reason all the sci fi shows huge transparent domes is because that alone creates an environment like home. You don’t have to hold the air pressure in if you balance the pressure with water bags. They do need to be 50 ft. deep or so for around 8 p.s.i. but the load is balanced so flexible membranes and abundant water is all that’s needed and light allows agriculture. There is no limit to the size these domes can be and radiation would be much less than Earth. The basketball would be amazing.

This article is pretty good but I think SpaceX will be the dominant player; unlike what is presented here.
No matter, I wish all players the best of luck; competition is good.

Low gravity and cosmic rays will have to be dealt with before we can go anywhere for long periods of time.

Absolutely insufferable. Not going to down vote, because that’s not my style but I only made it a few minutes in before I had to stop it. Not sure if it’s the voice, the bad quips or just the idiocy of apocalypse tropes, but this was definitely not made for me. Apparently some people liked it tho, so kudos on that.

People can’t stay in their homes for a couple of weeks and wear masks when they do go out during a pandemic. There is no way these same people will be able stay sane during a 2 month space capsule travel and then have to wear a whole space suit to go outside!!! We better just focus on fixing this planet!!!

    I’d watch 24/7

This is pure fantasy. If anyone planned to do this they would have test habitats set up on earth to test the technology needed to live on mars. The colonists are going to be a little disappointed when they get to mars and find no water to drink, food to eat, or air to breathe. There’s a saying in the military that “amateurs talk strategy while professionals talk logistics “.
