This was one of the best summaries of an important perspective of the corona pandemic. Thank you for a clear and informative contribution. Some epidemiologists working with statistics and mathematical modelling are also doing a great job. What is like a 24/7 thing in the general mass media is a diluted version that is becoming boring. I skip most of that, avoid being too close to others and do the other simple things that make sense. Besides that, just live as I usually do.

Humans have been surviving in the face of viral infections for 100s of thousands of years. What’s changed? Nothing. And the very large numbers of people who have had the virus and haven’t noticed (and I am referring to the results of the several antibody studies now available) is strong evidence that the human immune system is actually quite capable of dealing with SARS-Cov-2. SARS-CoV and MERS survivors had a few years of immunity or some are still immune, but it’s like certain communicable diseases or the ones you need repeated vaccination schedules for. As early as Oct, there could be an approved vaccine for public use, but they usually take 12-18 months to develop and have to go through clinical trials. 5-10% of East Asian recoveries had a relapse or reappearance of infection of Covid19. +

Last post: Covid-19 (SARS-CoV-2) has 3 strains or some say 30 substrains, unless being so new, it hasn’t did a lot of change in the past 4 months in the world. One strain is in East Asia, Australia, Iran and western USA. The 2nd is in East Asia too, but went to Europe, Africa and Eastern USA. And the 3rd in China appeared in Singapore. Is this why Covid-19 was deadlier and more widespread not in China where it has originated? +

The large preponderance of the elderly; very sick, but being kept alive by modern medicine, is a growing ‘problem’ to which no-one seems to have an answer. If Nature has ‘decided’ (which I actually doubt, in this case) to intervene, and provide its ‘own answer’; then so be it. But under NO circumstances should we change our way of life. There is no such thing as ‘new normal’.There is only normal………..Science is the new Religion. And thank God for that. But at least Religion accepted that we are going to die. We are going to have to learn that Science is not, ultimately, going to change that. Otherwise we’ll have to live under a ‘dictatorship’ that makes religion look like a kiddies’ tea party.

So vaccines are not necessarily THE PREFERRED method considering they’ve only nee around for about 1/300,000th of human history. The antibody comments in this video miss the mark. The levels of antibodies isn’t a key metric, the memory cells is the key.
As long as the immune system B & T memory cells are around, antibodies can be produced again quickly and in huge amounts.
This video uses a bacterial infection example, but viral infections are similar.

I think we really need to delicately find ways to live with this thing in our midst. We can’t have these complete lockdowns indefinitely. Additionally, multiple antibodies tests in the U.S. have shown far more people have already been infected with the disease COVID-19. The actual amount of people who might have antibodies could be far higher and additional research is needed.

Immunity is only as good/bad as our health. To stay health, start with no sugar, syrup, starch or any food family with carbohydrates. Stop use of any oil, eat only healthy oil. Substitute sugar and carbohydrates with healthy salad, (grass fed) animal fat and protein. Cholesterol? is body health essential but has been demonized to hide that sugar family food and processed oil causes modern decease – diabetes, cancer and heart decease. Serious question since this is sorta new… Isn’t anyone concerned with the potential ethical or moral implications of trying to get out of the Pandemic by mass producing Antibody tests? So imagine your employer or previous employer if you were laid off, gets mass access to antibody tests, but you were responsible and vigilant and managed to avoid catching COVID 19. Does a non-Essential service get to use these tests as a way of deciding who it hires back? Desperate people, who are now responsible people, could be put in a situation where they might want to fake a test, or worst, go figure out a way to catch the disease and roll the dice. If this idea of an Antibody test keeps spreading as a way out of this Pandemic, we may actually have “Corona parties” happening.

The flu’s all circulate every year or so. So our immunity is restored every year or so when the virus attacks us. So no shot’s with very dangerous additives, I ‘ll just wait for the next infection period and get my immunity renewed. Think about all the baby boomers that had all the childhood diseases. They became immune. How many people get mumps? Zero. With all the illegal aliens we have had some of our children killed by contact with them. Evidently their immunity was gone or somehow the shots the did have provided no immunity for too many children. Something stinks about vaccines. Too many animal parts and heav y metals that cause disease and serious brain impairments. No thanks.

Does it happen that if exposure/illness antibodies get produced, they are measurable for a while – then after the same antibody levels go down (say in 4-24 months) – can re-exposure at that time later (a second time) stimulate your immune cells to produce antibodies even more quickly than the first time (memory?) such that one does not get as sick?

I thought the cold was caused by rhinovirus. She didn’t explicitly say that the cold was coronavirus, but she never mentioned rhinovirus as the common cold. Her omission of a fact is misleading. Though she did mention SARS and this is our first large spread experience with the disease. In the past SARS was in China but now it is spread all over with this disease. FYI Co-Vid-19 is an offshoot of SARS. The acute respiratory symptoms match. Plus any SARS China=Co-Vid-19 China, duh.

p.s. an active case of shingles in an adult can transmit chickenpox to a child.

First and foremost, CCP virus is not the only microorganism around, there are thousands of them virtually carpeting our outer skin and inner main cavities; they are part of our daily lives, mainly bacteria whom we have a natural symbiotic “love affair.” Our bodies’ immune system (IS) reacts to every single material that we touch in our immediate environment. If I am a nurse, my body will develop and keep all the time active antibodies for all the materials I get in touch in, around and out of my job and that’s the case for every single human being on this earth. If for some reason I decide to change careers and go into mechanic, my IS will hang my nurse occupation antibodies and develop antibodies for the materials I am in touch as a mechanic most of the time.
One important thing, if we adhere strictly to a quarantine, we lose power in our IS, that’s why is not bad at all going without mask out there and breath in some Wuhan viruses, that it’ll make your IS to develop antibodies to defend itself. At least that’s the general principles on microbes that I learned in my Microbiology class. Good luck.

Your country doesn’t care, it only cares about its money. Each time you get it, your body will be damaged more. How many times do you think you can get it before it kills you? 3, maybe 4? Are you in really good shape? A non-smoker, exercise a lot, young? That may move it up to 5 or 6. Maybe it will be humane when they put you in a medically induced comma and intubate you. Good luck. @harold wilkes I see, unfortunately at 46, I have developed seizures and strokes. Which also places me in a high risk group apparently. I would like to know I’m going to live at least another 10 or so years to watch my grandkids grow. I’ve never found baseless optimism very useful in achieving ones goals. Realism certainly, however, sacrificing for the greater good is a cowards act in my opinion. It is done out of desperation, and shows exactly how weak and inept a person/organization truly is. Yet that is exactly what so many people, including the POTUS, are calling for.

The infection propability is about 15% in an household of >2 people. Also there is a big difference on the how the disease plays out whether you are infected …exposed to a big amount of cov19 like in carnival party or not. The average covid dead is about 82 years old in average and has already substantial health problems. So let’s keep the risk groups as save as possible, but don’ shut down a complete economy. That is nothing but crazy…. but already done so :-/

UK doesn’t give a chicken pox vaccine, so all mine got it one summer (aged 3 years 10 months, 2 years 8 months, and 11 months so quite young). They have had vaccines for everything else.
I’m eligible for flu vaccine under NHS. As in the video, they have to predict which strain the produce vaccine against, so it’s only effective if they predict the right strain. I don’t actually get the flu. For those reasons I don’t take up the offer.
