Brings new meaning to the term “sunroof”!!!

Completely pointless, not seen one one these in the real roads since they started producing them 30years ago 😂😂😂

Fair criticism but what’s useful isn’t producing a consumer product, but advancing various technologies that can have other applications and providing training to engineers.

When’s the last time you saw an open wheel Formula 1 car on “real roads”?

These are engineering competition vehicles , you’re not going to see these outside the race track.

    Really futuristic technology car

2:17 adding a retractable sail might work .. or a solar sail …??

    • @TheAegisClaw

      December 11, 2023 at 5:27 pm

Solar sails only work in a vacuum.

    Obvious safety issues.

2% more than a Tesla? Wow, Tesla is killing it then because they can carry at least 5 passengers along with a considerable amount of cargo while being convenient and usable…absolutely amazing achievement I’d say!

    • @user-wb1wk8uz8x

      December 10, 2023 at 11:43 am

He said 2% MORE THAN a Tesla, not less.

    • @sharpvidtube

      December 10, 2023 at 11:44 am

2% more than a Tesla. A Tesla might make sense for some journeys, while a solar powered vehicle would make more sense for others. Tesla has a lot of competition too, I feel this is very early days for EVs, will be interesting to see how the technology progresses.

    • @jezza6575

      December 10, 2023 at 11:53 am

Sorry my bad that’s what I meant…got er changed! My point is there’s only a 2% difference in this highly specialized vehicle versus a Tesla that is very comfortably used as a daily driver.

    • @user-wb1wk8uz8x

      December 10, 2023 at 12:04 pm

Understood, and you are correct in your original point. Tesla is killing it and I hope we get more positive results from these types of competitions and the innovative thinking of today’s youth. Heck knows the planet needs it desperately.@@jezza6575

I’ll just keep driving my 2007 Toyota straight stick which gets up to 45 mpg if I drive it decent.

    • @keon3155

      December 10, 2023 at 1:34 pm

Don’t forget your routine oil change, engine oil, coolant, spark plugs, timeline belts and other hoses. Maintenance my human! Plus expensive gasoline! How does that compare to a car that drives off sunlight and doesn’t need maintenance? You keep driving that outdated constantly needing work done vehicle lol. I’m happy you’re happy. But think about upgrading when these EV/solar vehicles become ubiquitous

Just don’t see these being practical on roads populated with giant and heavy trucks and SUVs from a safety stand point.

    Wait for further development!

Time to start thinking about harnessing moonlight technology rather than leaving it the red-light districts. Get with that watch company that harnesses light really well… Citizen Watch Eco drive

Sono scion and light-year are dead. It’s up to aptera to do it now. This video needed some fact checking.
