Surely the better perfect strategy computer would just be like, a hidden camera in your glasses or tiepin or something that would use computer vision to detect cards in its field of view, and once it’s seen a card once, knock it off the list for a while. So as long as you just looked at each card, it could update its state and know what’s left

Thank you for explaining exactly how Ivey pulled off the Baccarat scheme. Ive watched multiple videos on it, and they all just left it at “edge sorting”. Now I get why some people say it was cheating. I say the casino’s greed bit them. When he started coming up with all these weird requests, they shouldve known that he knew something they didnt.

Worked in retail, and the lengths people would go to steal and then return the items they stole seemed to never end. That person with the magnetic wheelchair, and the denim stealers are the reason we do not have flying cars. If only they had put their inventiveness towards something else. 😄

If the casino lets you rotate cards, and you use that to mark cards they supplied, it’s not cheating, it’s just playing the game well within their rules.

Everyone refers to the mob running Vegas in the past tense. “Back when the mob ran the strip …” etc. Like it’s a forgone conclusion that organised crime no longer runs Vegas. Who’s to say he mob isn’t running Vegas? Maybe they’re just more subtle about it.

    • @salpiacente9281

      May 7, 2025 at 7:55 pm

How? Please explain how the casinos cheat today using shuffling machines? The machine is designed to stop false shuffling scams and to increase productivity its by getting more hands per hour. The mob did not cheat utilizing machines. The message was that the dealer can still cheat (by other methods) is a shuffling machine is employed.

this vid was played right after I watched LeaglEagle stuff and…..I am learning TOO MUCH on gambling things right now but I like the attitude of Sal and I like that with counting in particular to clarify, if you are using your mind, you aren’t cheating. The moment a device is involved, it’s no funny business

The perfect strategy computer will be a big threat to casinos in the coming years. With biotechnology now being a thing, the signal device could be implanted subdermally somewhere on the body. And there are already eye prosthetics with cameras in them. AI can be used to read the cards on camera, self-driving cars and facial recognition cameras do it every day. Combine the two, and you won’t even have to signal the perfect strategy computer, it can read the cards for you and tell you how to play through a small vibrating subdermal implant. Or a subdermal speaker in or near your ear. Use your phone as the processor for the whole operation, or have the phone connected to a PC somewhere in the world with serious processing power.

Going to be interesting to see how technology is both implemented and combated in gambling going forward.

  46. @joseph_b319

    May 7, 2025 at 8:43 pm

Casinos don’t need to cheat. They just say the machine malfunctioned when you win.

  55. @Bob-cu8no

    May 8, 2025 at 7:22 pm

Why is it considered cheating? It is a skill. No reasonable person would believe that the casinos just don’t like the odds not being in their favour they are happy to use every possible trick to take money of people. And the man just represents his employer who no doubt pay him well?

  56. @andeeharry

    May 8, 2025 at 7:22 pm

Thanks for sharing. Yeah, the House always wins. Between this and the 12 mind tricks it uses to keep you in place. It is crazy. It ruins you and watches you like a hawk so you don’t win, while the games are crooked and trigged. It is engineered that way. If someone is ”winning”, you can guarentee that it is either a mark or an employee playing mind games to make it sound worth being there.

I’m still not understanding how that Ocean’s 11 type scam in Macau could have been done. They moved all the furniture into a bedroom, ok, I understand that, but how did they get the gaming tables into the room?

I was a dealer and a dual rate in the business when the Phil Ivey thing went down. Most everyone’s view was, the casino that let him set the rules was just asking to be taken. If a player is telling you to change the rules it’s for a reason, and not one that’s good for the house.

Card counting is NOT illegal as long as you are doing it your head.

If you have a device like the ones people had in their shoe that would buzz to signal them. You would use your toes to to give inout and it would buzz to give you answers back.

    That is illegal.

  71. @McNab1986

  77. @thelastwrap7756

In my book if the casino has a mathematical advantage and I start winning and thats a problem to you then if I’m not winning, the casino is cheating, by the fact you have a mathematical advantage. One reason why I don’t go to casino’s. If I want to give my money away I can save gas and do it locally.

  78. @snarkmark2806

    May 9, 2025 at 7:34 pm

Card counting is not illegal. No jail time. It can get you back roomed and ejected though.

  79. @DennisGr

    May 9, 2025 at 7:40 pm

they cheat BY USING MATH and they know it. if you win more than the math says that’s not possible because the math does not fail.

  80. @Jerry-OSBB

    May 9, 2025 at 8:04 pm

So its okay for casinos to cheat and count cards but not the customer. Isn’t counting or being kind of aware of what might be left in the deck natural? Instinctive? I think casinos just stop anyone who is winning and say they are cheating. They can’t prove you are cheating. Casinos are just stealing money.

The only card game (or casino game for that matter) that is mathematically winnable for the player assuming no one is cheating is blackjack. Your odds aren’t great, but they are better than 50%. Everything else? It doesn’t really matter what you do, you’re still losing.

Edge sorting has been considered a legitimate advantage play tactic for over 60 years by both the players and the casinos, but after a few casinos got got for a large amount of money they retroactively changed the rules and some guy in a robe that hasn’t gambled a single day in his life told literally everyone that they’re wrong.

I like how he completely avoided answering the question at 13:46 lol. So let me answer for him:

Basically because 1) they were a highly trained team of several people with a big bankroll available 2) they did it for months 3) card counting was relatively new at the time, so casinos were not prepared for it 4) there weren’t any shuffling machines (CSM or ASM) back then, all shuffling was done manually by the dealer, which allowed the count to actually stay fair and, well, countable

Speaking for myself I do not gamble at casinos. Life itself is a gamble & crap shoot. Can’t for the life of me understand how stacking the deck with the house just about always winning isn’t cheating in & of itself. So why bother when the odds are stacked against you. So I applaud anyone who can get over a casino by any means.

I saw a documentry many years ago about beating the casinos. One part of it featured the guy who invented the
blackjack computer you put in your shoe. He and his son started testing it in real casinos. His son was winning so much money
the casino at the time took him to a back room questioned him and at some stage found the computer in his shoe. All this was handed to the authorities.
Luckily for them the police or the FBI , at the time, could not figure what the computer was being used for. They got off without being charged with anything.

If you’re winning consistently, there is something wrong. Then the easiest way to win is to not play. So why do so many people play?

  133. @russellstyles5381

    May 11, 2025 at 5:44 pm

So, if the games are mathematically rigged to make you lose, then that is cheating. Ok, so using math in these games is fine then. Good! BUT, if the player is using math to rig the game in their favour instead it is cheating. Ok, gotcha. Makes sense.

Slot machines, well, guess what, much like 98% of electronics, they can not handle magnets, and be forced into a restart pretty easily. So the first step is to low bet and create a before and after sample size to see if the casino is fu…dging you.

After that there’s a lot of brute force tools that would be blatantly obvious and set off the coin door sound, but there’s also _others_ .

Answering the thumbnail question. Card counting is not illegal. It’s also not cheating. It is making calculated decisions on the cards that have been played and the possible cards remaining. It is very difficult and a lot of the time does not pay off necessarily. Casinos want you to think its illegal because it has a higher chance of beating the house vs straight instinct playing with your feelings/Gut instinct. It is the same as playing poker and understanding the odds and reading your opponent. Except your opponet is the casino not another player so the casino calls it againt their terms of servervice/play.

  206. @XalenPrime

It’s illegal because rich people who own the casino paid to have laws put into place so that smart people wouldn’t be aloud to outplay them and take their money. Like most laws, they only matter if you’re too poor to pay your way out of it.

This is why I no longer go to casinos, the games are rigged for the house to win, this guy admits it, it’s better to save your money or spend it on something you can really enjoy.

Maybe every player should be the dealer too? The end.

If I gambled, I’d definitely be looking for a way to cheat at it. But Wow… this teaches me i’m not smart enough to cheat. So no need to gamble. LOL
