Beer has been around since like the beginning of humans it’s so easy to make literally all you needed to do back in the day was get some wheat put it in a barrel of water and it’ll start fermenting because humans have enough yeast on their hands to start the brewing process, especially back then

I was lucky enough to meet Garret 23 yrs ago on a trip to NYC. He tried to educate me and his cousin, my friend, about craft beer but we were too stuck on Zima 🤦🏽♀️ to hear what he was saying. Fast forward and Garrett was right and thank goodness Zima is long gone. Great video Garrett!

Cans and bottles are both recyclable, but glass bottles can be reused as is while cans have to be melted back down and reformed. My wife’s step-father brews his own beer, and just recaps sanitized, used bottles.

There was an amazing restaurant where the owner had a similar charisma and would spend hours telling you EVERYTHING about the evolution of rock and metal if you let him. Truly a memorable experience and I wish to encounter more of those passionate people.
It’s a shame the place burned down along with his collection that was worthy of a museum. La Pocatière’s Pizza-Bouffe will always have a special place in my heart thanks to that man

7:52 – Take note of the word “feel”; glass bottles can be recycled forthwith in countries with a system for bottle bills, where aluminium cans always have to be melted down. If the glass bottles are not washed and reused, glass is also cheaper to melt before casting new ones.

Regarding the glass vs. can thing: At least what i know of, being German, the real beer drinkers will always choose glass because cans are kinda frowned upon. This is just a thing that imbedded itself in the beer traditions. You drink beer mix beverages out of cans maybe, or the ocasional beer ot ouf a can, but never when you are drinking with friends. Especially considering we don’t buy those weird six packs for everything. If you are gonna have a party you are gonna get a whole beer crate with like 24 bottles.

Well as a bavarian i have a very narrow spectrum of good beers. Is a beer not brewed with the Reinheitsgebot in mind even a beer? Well yes it is and they are ok, but I was taught otherwise while growing up and therefore I still prefer the beers which are brewed with the Reinheitsgebot in mind.

wine is easy? thats not true, you should take care of the climatic conditions of the vinyard, the soil, the amount of water, and to have all the instruments to gather all the grapes at time, the conditions of the ingredients are harder to get

I’m English and very skeptical of American beer, because what I’ve had was always sweet, citrus-y rubbish. So it is very interesting to hear an American talk highly of bitter.. can you get good bitter in the states? Whenever I tell an American I like Ale, or craft beer, they always think its the sweet stuff..
