Andrea Love… tell us you don’t know anything about chiropractic without telling us you don’t know anything about chiropractic

The vast majority of chiropractors don’t even believe in the old “nerve compression” theory that started the field and have moved on to traditional medical assessment and straight musculoskeletal treatment. The stuff you’re talking about is 100yr old philosophy

The appeal of pseudosciences is easy answers to complex questions. If someone claims to have the ‘answer’ to something that has been eluding scientific communities for decades, if not centuries, & that answer fits in a sound bite, it’s BS.

Your diet can actually affect your DNA, the nutritional content of food can be changed through gene edditing, such as golden rice.
Lifestyle factors & diet can lead to, DNA being methylated which change it’s activity, these changes are inheritable.

This doctors knows nothing about chronic Lyme disease, fibromyalgia, how to diagnose either one. Untreated Lyme may be one of the most destructive diseases we have. The blood test guidelines were proven to be corrupt by corporate so that doctors who can’t follow symptoms based diagnosing and treatment can gas light patients instead if helping us. Lyme brings out the monstrosity in todays One Size Fits Many practice of medicine. Establishment doctors like this one represent corporate and cannot perform clinical engagement or symptoms based diagnosing, instead they are compelled to gaslight their patients as this doctor does on Chronic Lyme Disease.

Amazing stuff! An episode dedicated to pseudo science! With definitions in reply to people that dont know what is pseudoscience? As a follower of many a pseudoscientist, I am suspicious as to why and what for? if pseudoscientific practise and false narratives are causing problems for society(scientifically), and that is measurable, then by all means label something ‘false’/ fake and dangerous. Yes yes. However, if Science itself has not caught up to some truths because of insufficient evidence, then many phenomena that exist in our living experience can be dismissed as being false or pseudo. The term ‘pseudo’ also implies a type of judgement. As in masquerading with a hidden nefarious agenda. The best part is, for me, is that the rigours and politics of academic research are fraught with difficulty. Important areas of research do not enjoy funding because they fly in the face of the established scientific narrative. Worse even, if research were to prove much of the pseudo-babble to be correct and well founded it then poses an existential threat to conventional scientific paradigms. Knowledge seekers should embrace as many unconventional bizarre strange anomalous topics on our quest for greater knowledge collectively. Labelling a category of knowledge, whilst it may have proven some test of time, may be an indicator of insecurity. Why? Science knows best right? Relax mainstream scientific culture proponents. The only thing you may fear could be the truth. Thats what we all seek.

The rise in general vaccine skepticism was directly caused by COVIDiots who mocked Ivermectin, not realizing they were being scammed. The war on Ivermectin was a result of laws that prohibit an emergency approval for a vaccine if there are alternative treatments. Too many media and political hacks were invested in Pfizer to allow the public to learn about Ivermectin’s effectiveness. Now that the info is out, no one will trust them again.

Lyme disease is a very complex issue and your 60 second ignorant, self righteous sound bits is incredibly useless. The Lyme disease test that is given in Dr’s offices is highly inaccurate so we are misdiagnosed for years. Many of us have a genetic mutation that doesn’t allow us to detox properly. Misdiagnosis+ not detoxing= treatment resistant tickborne illnesses.

I can’t disagree with most of what she says here. Some things I’m just not knowledgeable enough and she obviously is so I’ll take her word for it. Only thing I’ll pushback on is her take on chiropractic care. I used to be a skeptic. I thought the whole thing was quack science…until I was experiencing serious back pains for several weeks. I tried a number of things that people had recommended but nothing was working. I got desperate as I had military boot camp coming up within a week and in the condition I was in where I could barely move, I took the recommendation of my brother and gf and I saw their chiropractor and it freakin worked! I had no issues getting through boot camp. Now whenever my cousin who is a professional physical therapist and had been accepted to an Ivy League school for their doctorate program, talks badly about chiropractors, I think of my personal experience and I wonder if the academics need to take another look at it.

Lyme decease – check your body after being out in nature.
Specifically armpits, groin, navel, etc. If you find a tick, remove it…
…then for the next 24 hours, keep track of the surrounding skin. If it goes red, especially if you get a red circle around the area – contact a doctor.
Otherwise – you’re good. (I live in a VERY tick-rich area of the world)

While a healthy dose of skepticism is needed for pseudo science, accepting everything that the medical and scientific community reports without question is not advisable as well. Not recognizing the fact that the medical industry and the Scientific community has had its own issues, unfortunately facilitates the acceptance of pseudoscience.

I’m a scientist and I agree. I love cell biology in general and there’s so much for us to explore and learn. Modern day medicine is helpful in immediate treatment, like antibiotics/antifungals/antihistamins/vaccines/surgical techniques. Without those you wouldn’t live past the age of 30 and if you injured yourself, that cut won’t heal without antibiotics and proper surgical methods and you’ll lose an arm or a leg (literally). But I’m definitely against the pharmaceutical industries because they are corrupt and profit off of us being sick. I’ve seen more improvements in my health by eating better, exercising, fasting, sleeping well and drinking enough water. Doctors need to get back to the roots of promoting actual health and not masking symptoms with a drug.

That’s crazy about chiropractors because I went to a chiropractor for my back and I haven’t felt that pain in five years. Completely gone! Minor and irrelevant detail; I can’t feel anything below the area of adjustment and I have to use a wheelchair and I was given an undisclosed amount for the slight side effect of loss of mobility….but it fixed the chronic pain issue! Will recommend!

She left out the most contributing factor to the rise of pseudoscience, which is the effects of capitalism and income disparaging as well as people working harder and longer hours and receiving less pay than their predecessors, even though productivity has increased more than 1000% in the last few decades

People start to think that there is a conspiracy against them, and that the people with the knowledge are withholding information and abilities that these people can use to achieve goals that they set for themselves when they were younger the problem and not that they’re doing what they need to do, but what they’re doing Not pay for them in the long run so they look to other reasons and sources to find control in their lives.
But other than that, I mean, I can’t argue with anything she’s saying she’s probably smart on And knows way more than I do about this stuff. So pretty good.

In Aotearoa/New Zealand organic carries a different meaning to many other territories. Here it means that the producer adhered to much stricter than usual animal and labour welfare standards than are required for non-organic production. Many Kiwis buy organic because they prioritise the welfare of people and animals.

2:45 You lost me here. Just two days ago, the BMJ wrote: “In conclusion, excess mortality has remained high in the Western World for three consecutive years, despite the implementation of COVID-19 containment measures and COVID-19 vaccines. This is unprecedented and raises serious concerns.”
We all know what causes the continuation of the excess mortality.

    • @jaykanta4326

      June 4, 2024 at 9:16 pm

      ” the BMJ wrote”

No, they didn’t, as the BMJ is a journal, not a person. Who is the person, was it a worthless letter to the editor and you brought no real evidence.

    • @jaykanta4326

      June 4, 2024 at 9:16 pm

“We all know what causes the continuation of the excess mortality.”

Nope, and that’s a very stupid logical fallacy.

    • @jaykanta4326

      June 4, 2024 at 9:23 pm

Oh! Written by Oncologists with no expertise in vaccines or immunology, and they use Peter Doshi’s horrible “reanalysis” of Pfizer data as a positive piece of evidence, despite it’s serious shortcomings and Doshi’s lack of credibility.

The paper you should have cited is: “Excess mortality across countries in the Western World since the COVID-19 pandemic: ‘Our World in Data’ estimates of January 2020 to December 2022”. It’s not in the BMJ, it’s in a lower tier journal called BMJ Public Health.

None of the authors have any research prior to this in any public health matter except pediatric oncology.

Chiropractics may not be backed up as intensively as other medical practices, but if anyone is interested I would suggest trying it. I get migraines regularly and while it doesn’t completely stop them, it definitely has made them rarer for me.

    June 5, 2024 at 6:16 pm

I liked what she pointed out. However, It must also be mentioned that she only knows her education and scope of practice. Different specialists have different takes on the body. Like any doctor you go to has a different take on treating you. What should go without question is how to question whether every person’s body is different, which is why specialists exist. However, her measurement should focus on her definition of ‘influencers” and, more importantly, how you should not believe everything you hear, but everything should be questioned.

The flouride thing breaks my heart. Until I moved to a place withouutt flouridated water, I never had a cavity. When I moved, after over a year or so, I had several. I was embarassed and disappointed in myself, thinking that I was taking worse care of my teeth, even though I was brushing and floossing as recommended, and no less than I had before. Then Iblearned we don’t have flouridated water and it all made sense. I’m worried my future kids are going to have way worse (I mean, everything) dental health than I did, and more places are succumbing to fear mongering by the day.

My dad has been a chiropractor for decades and has seen thousands of people’s lives and ailments improved or healed over time with chiropractic and it’s complementary therapies. He went to a real school, and practices a real type of medicine.

Again, excellent video. However, I do take exception to this statement: “Your likelihood or risk of lyme disease is very very low.” This may be true to the average American, but to those living in certain parts of the country where the bacteria carrying ticks live, and who engage in certain outdoor activities, it seems like a dangerously misleading statement. Outdoors people in New England need to be very careful!

I like to think of myself as very grounded in my beliefs, and already knew most of what she was talking about, but I have to admit I’ve been clinging to some of those beliefs about organic food–not that they were healthier, but that they were better for the environment and free of pesticide residue.

Why is misinformation so often believed? I think because so many drugs are put in the market then after a few years are then found to be harmful to take. The scientist who original studied those drugs were most often funded by the companies wanting to sell the drug. Also, who has the time to verify the research, we certainly can do SOME of our own research but so much information out there, in a way it is making us more misinformed.
    .
Herbs + essential oils VS pharmaceutical drugs.
Herbs and essentials oils when you pick the wrong one for your condition will almost always still promote overall better health. Most drugs have a long list of negative side effects.
Herbs and essential oils are much cheaper than drugs. Still there is people in both fields looking to make a profit.
    .
I use to believe everything our healthcare industry said and would take their cold medicine for my colds. My colds would always last about 7 days. Then I tried Oregano essential oil and my colds would end within a day. A bottle of oregano usually last me years and costs me about 25 dollars. So yea I prefer starting with herbs and essential oils if I get something serious I will still go to the doctor. However, whatever they prescribe I am going to insist on reading the research for it first and find out who has paid for that research.

The subtitles say “rosin” but I’m not sure is that because it seems that she is sayins “krosin” or something like that. It caught my eye because I’m gluten intolerant and I have never heard of it.

Yeah you lost me at the chiropractors. Here in Canada they may not need medical school but they still do 7 years of school and are required to pass a exam and be registered… So yeah not a MD but they do know what they are talking about in regards to their field. I would not trust anyone even a normal doctor in a field they are not specialized in.

It doesn’t matter what you call them – Snake oil salesman, carnival barker, homeopathic healer, medium to the other side, preacher, politician, they are all the same thing. A person who has realized it’s really easy to trick idiots out of money, much easier than actually working. All you have to do is promise the impossible. The con-man. Some cons are just better than others.

  244. @thedave1771

    June 6, 2024 at 7:36 pm

One note about homeopathy. It isn’t that the remedy gets more powerful the more it is diluted, rather, it is that it gets more powerful the more you are deluded.

  245. @oliviastar3812

    June 6, 2024 at 8:43 pm

What about the big players in the game, ie: the food and drug industry conglomerates? The studies and research etc intrinsically linked to those bedfellows too? Is she not working with whatever ‘truths’ have been issued or publicised? Not everything is always as it seems.

  246. @brie1987

    June 6, 2024 at 8:52 pm

You can have a sensitivity to things like gluten without having celiac disease. But yeah, these pseudo science ideas are spread by well meaning people and grifters alike. Science and research methodology are crucial areas of study overlooked in high school and even college in non science majors. Science illiteracy is like illiteracy in the Middle Ages now.

Tells you to avoid people who talk outside of their expertise, proceeds to talk about radio frequency waves and give an incorrect definition of non-ionizing.

I think the 5 red flags to look out for were good though.
