Yeah, it’s cute, but giving me Skynet nightmares lol. Amazon is the last company I’d trust listeing in, much less being able to travel around the home or leading the in-home robot trend. They’re not exactly moral or trustworthy, and they’re predatory company hellbentb on wanting to run evening and be everywhere. 🙄 The concept, itself, is pretty cool though.

Please read this. They are catching people steeling on the homeowners security cameras inside and outside the home. This is not working. The police are arriving after the theft has gone and still have no way of identifying the theft. Even needing the public to help identify them. They have even have photos of their face… This will not fix our crime problem. Don’t be fooled into the real reason why they really made this thing.

I love new tech but can’t imagine a use for this thing. Give me a robot that picks up groceries, cleans the litter box, does the taxes, plays the stock market, does the laundry, etc.

Personally for me I’m not into robots or sharing my feelings with robots. Because to me it acknowledges a bigger problem. In our comp 1 class we have discussed in our essay how friendships have become more digital and we feel more confident talking to robot about our feelings. And I feel this video makes the argument stronger. I feel people need to learn how to have a conversation and allow friendships to become more personal. I just don’t feel there’s enough room for robots. Of course they do have their place like if they’re going to say vacuum are carpet and stuff like that is okay. But I don’t feel like we should get used to this. One author has discussed that have we lost confidence in people that much that we need to be talking to a robot. You have to admit that’s a excellent point.

I just feel like these new products are kind of going to transform people into machines. It may be subtle but this is kind of weird. Is there a thing as of too much technology?

Make it like a guard dog that isn’t useless so you can leave your house without worrying about burglars. Preferably the robot will be like in the Robocop movies where it will give a warning and then shoot the intruder with 100 bullets of overkill even after the intruder complies. Sounds good to me.
