I put the apple device in my car in case it gets stolen so I can at least tell the Police where it was last parked.

Samsung tags would have been a better choice. If we’re talking about ecosystems, it makes sense an AirTag vs Samsung tag video. If we’re talking general trackers, we could have use Chipolo for both Android and iPhone

The fact that not all Android phones have had the new find my device network enabled I’m sure has a lot to do with it. It’s brand new. I happened to get it recently, but a lot of people I know don’t have it yet, so it’ll get a lot better very soon I’m sure.

Would love to see you use a Samsung device and compare their smart tags vs these 2 trackers.

I’ve been thinking about using smart watches to remind you to check your items (with a vibration on your hand) when your destination is reached on a public transport. This method can assist you to remember to hold every items with you before exiting the public transport. Sometimes we have a tendency to forget things on the public transport but a strong haptic vibration on your smart watch with a notification message can remind you to hold unto your purchase items like groceries before exiting the vehicle. You can set an approximate time that it will take to reach your destination and the smart watch will trigger a haptic vibration to alert you to secure every items that you’re carrying. You can use this method on a private vehicle as well when travelling with a friend. The set time don’t need to be too specific but just a rough calculation that it will take to reach your destination. 😎💯💪🏾👍🏾

Well, it’s safe to say you should stick with Apple’s AirTags as Google’s borrowed Find My Device network is clearly another half-baked Android disaster. 🤭

The test should have been done with “with network in all areas” turned on, because that is how apple has theirs set-up. A fair comparison would have them have the same setting…test should be re-run, can’t just say it at end of the video saying oops not a fair comparison. That being said it probably comes down to the number of devices on the network. In North America higher percentage of apple users so apple will be faster, in Asia more android users so android will be faster.

They are several biases here. ( 1 ) She should be using the official Samsung tag if it’s a Samsung phone instead of a third party tracker, because they are so many different android android phones she do this with at least 3 phone, iPhone, Samsung, and either Google or other Android phone. ( 2 ) She needs to redo this comparison since she setting were off. ( 3 ) Given the settings she used, there is a clear advantage for iOS since most people in the area are most likely carrying a iPhone…
I am impressed with iOS but still the biases needs to be addressed and thes experiment redone

1. This is not a test of a Samsung phone versus an apple phone versus Android. Samsung phones are Android phone. this is a test of Android network versus apple network with the new Bluetooth tracker for Android, not specifically Samsung..

Mine too, but you can never switch phones cause If you buy a different phone than samsung., you can’t use those tags anymore.

June 17, 2024 at 5:18 pm
The fair thing to do would be to redo the comparison with the Android set to With network in all areas

At 5:35 the android phone shows the exact location on the map. The lack of notification is not good. If you were actively looking for something though, you might have the app open and looking at it. There was also the choice to have directions on the android phone and overlooked it, while praising the iphone.

@mrj.juneau
June 17, 2024 at 9:22 pm
Yes, but the problem with the trackers. Smart tags is that the only work with Samsung phones. So if you don’t have a Samsung phone, you can’t use the Samsung tracker.

The point of this was to test the 2 networks, the apple network and Android network. And currently, there’s only two that I know of right now that are working with the android chipolo and Pebblebee. In theory, the android network will surpass the samsung smart tags

I am puzzeled, there is all these concerns about privacy, but we take videos and pictures of accidents, tragic or so called funny moments of other people’s lives. We are in a socity that is so evil we demand privacy of ourselves, but expext all others to bear their souls

Hi, the purpose of this test was to test the networks, the Android network and the apple network. If she wanted to do a fairer test, she should have used chipolo point and spot to do the test. One of them is for Android. The other one is for apple. This is not to test the trackers. This is really to test the network. The only problem is it’s too soon to test the Android network because they’ve just opened. Get up to Bluetooth, trackers.
