Everyone will get a couple of dollars, or some change like Google settlement. I think people are getting 75 cents or something stupid like that .😅

Still on the fence about this.. lowkey makes sense, the hardware won’t be able to meet the perf bar for their premium ecosystem experience you don’t have to support hardware forever.

But if this is not disclosed in the EULA, then that lawsuit is hook line and sinker

If i were given the choice between throttling and shutdowns, I would choose throttling. But I want a choice. Apple shouldn’t get to decide for me.

Its why my iPhone 11 is slower than it should be😢

My iPhone 11 is still on 15.1😁😁 still works fine so no need to update to 16

Can’t wait for EU to make battery replacement mandatory. Love to see how apple reacts

    • Ken

      August 15, 2023 at 8:18 pm

Replaceable batteries will have worse heat dissipation which slows down your phone during heavy use bc the chip isnt running at peak performance in order to keep cool.

And your rear battery cover is likely to be plastic which is another hit to heat dissipation!

Replaceable batteries would probably be thicker in general.

They should make both versions to Give us, the consumers choice!

USB C being mandatory has drawbacks too. if they ever come out with extra slim phones when chips are more efficient a smaller charging port would be crucial to the rigidity of the structure near the charging port or not possible to be thinner than usb C

Then again im no engineer so Maybe they can make a glass back with a heatsink somehow or a slide in battery from the side or bottom. But were definitely going to lose water resistance due to the removable battery.

      August 15, 2023 at 9:40 pm

@Ken 1. Replaceable batteries have no worse heat dissipation than sealed ones.

      2. Glass is a terrible thermal conductor. Its thermal conductivity coefficient can be much lower than glass. No glass back = less to break.

      3. I want phones to be thicker. That makes them more durable.

      4. They won’t make both versions because it would create a lot of confusion among consumers. It would also require apple to do twice as much engineering. It would be nice to have the option though.

      5. Not realistic. A phone being so thin such that USB is too thin will have other issues. It will bend. And even if were still thick enough, it’s not likely that the phone will bend along it’s width rather than it’s height.

      6. I don’t know what apple will come up with, but I hope its elegant. You can still have water resistance and a removable battery. The galaxy S5 had it.

      August 15, 2023 at 10:28 pm

      @UnrealOG  @UnrealOG137  yeah. I owned the S5, great phone!

I meant glued Batteries are maybe attached to a heat sink that actually touches the external case. And Removable batteries need an extra shell for safety, they could use a metal casing to dissipate heat better to the glass rear/external case.

I don’t need a durable phone. I’ve owned over 60 phones 30 tablets and never bent one and I never rock a case on any device (I know, I have a sickness). The last iPod touch is seriously thin. Thinner than the thinnest iPads ever and Never bent that either without a case. But sure, I’d want a durable phone if I was clumsy or worked in construction or I was always getting drunk lol. But that’s what cases are for.

And I always thought glass was good at dissipating heat…. good to know. Thanks for educating me sir/ma’am! Cheers! 🤗🤗🤗

Just trade the old one in and get a new one, you’ll end up doing it anyways in the future.

    • UnrealOG

      August 15, 2023 at 9:13 pm

By that logic, I might as well trade in my 3 month old iPhone in for the new one. After all, in gonna trade it in anyway, right?

That money will go directly to politicians extravagant lifestyle…
That isn’t the only issue. Sometimes they deliberately impair your SPEAKER-VOLUME-APPS-SOUNDS-CONTENT-etc…so, you can purchase a new version…

It cosas customers WAY MORE than $65 to replace those iPhones. Even in settlement they get played. Smh

See this is why Andriod is better in more ways than one it’s not only flexible as an os but it doesn’t slow down your phone
