Surface Pro 7 review: Hello, old friend 🧙

Which product is most like the surface; though, without a detachable screen?

August 26, 2020 at 6:16 pm
Meh, this is a weird apples to oranges comparison. I would have thought that you would have chosen the surface pro at least.

Probably the best and most honest review I have seen yet comparing them. I own both and agree with the your thoughts. The iPad Pro is great, but even with the new keyboard (which drains the battery btw) it’s not a laptop by a long shot. That said, for a lot of things, especially media consumption, it’s unbeatable. The camera is much better too, something you didn’t get into it in your review. Why is not that important, well, if you’re in a classroom or at a convention and need to take pictures of the presentation you’re seeing, it’s important.

Should you compare the iPad to the Surface Pro X?. What you have there are two totally different devices

I totally agree with our review and cam up with the same conclusion. If I could only choose one I’d get a laptop (Mac or Windows). Great job

iPad market share growth from 2nd quarter 2019 to 2020 was only 1.3%, whereas the major Android tablet markers all had growth of over 40%. So expect more of these silly advertisement popping up across the internet.

You’re comparing an iPad pro to a real Computer? This Is like comparing the iPad pro to any of the Macbooks. The iPad Pro is like an iPhone with a bigger screen.

I loved the surface book as a laptop but as a tablet is horrible . Actually more surface books fault but windows . Windows in tablet mode is unreliable and laggy . Just because of this I hate to go back to iPad Pro and MacBook .

Yeah the google doc app sucks for iPad. However you can use google docs on safari and its similar to a windows laptop, especially with that magic keyboard.

The iPad is really nice because you can do a lot of work on it, and eventually you can upgrade to a MacBook. After that, they can connect and work together almost seemlesly

Until iPad Pro adopts a “Desktop mode” this isn’t really that much of a comparison. Comparing what’s basically an overpriced, oversized, megaoverpowered smartphone to an overpriced mid-powered laptop with a touch screen strikes me as odd.
When you get OS11 to put this directly up against it’s Windows counterpart? A touch screen MacOS environment vs A touch screen Windows environment? Apple Silicon vs Intel/AMD Silicon. Now there you’ll have something. There’s gonna be a tech war for the ages.

The iPad Pro with keyboard becomes an iPad with a keyboard. It’s not an alternative to a laptop, there are still too many limitations that no one is willing to make up for. Limited laptops that just do what an iPad Pro does are cheaper than this, and more powerful laptops that can do what a computer should are the same price or slightly more than iPad Pro plus keyboard.

I think you already make a clear statement, ipad is more like content reader than, content creator, if you reviewed that based on content reader, ipad is more useful, if you reviewed based on content creator, i think surface book is the one

7:30 “productivity” doesn’t always mean typing, especially not on a tablet computer. chances are more people use the pencil accessory with their ipads than keyboards. tablet computers are not supposed to be laptop wannabes or laptop replacements. they are a separate category of computers (mobile computers) from laptops (portable computers) different form factor for different use case.

iPad Pro is so very limited on apps. No freedom of software, I would not spend that much. I have a Surface Pro 4 & a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 which are both better to me.

It’s crazy how you can talk to someone about the ground, and they start talking to you about the sky. None of those are his comparison, so why bring it up?! If you wanna comparison with those other devices make your own YouTube video. It’s not Windows versus Mac or iOS. This is just talking about which one is the better value. That’s it..

Actually Lenovo had a Surface book like device but it would tend to overheat at times when you pushed it too hard and did some strong laptop type things on it. It even had a dock for the Stylus

Both are overpriced devices.
But at least iPad Pro is a master of tablet whereas Surface book 3 is jack of all trades, master of none.

I recently got the surface book and I had the same impression but man… I love this thing. I’m editing video on this without any issues, recording & producing music on it without having it break a sweat. Playing VST Instruments in Realtime on it & whenever I need it, I pop off the screen and go into tablet mode while the base stays connected to all my peripherals. Once I’m done I reconnect the screen and my entire setup comes back to life. It’s pretty amazing – the only downside I had with mine is that the battery life in tablet mode was abysmal for me, but maybe something is draining my battery in the background

it really depends on what firs your lifestyle. the ipad pro has been my “computer” for a year now and its literally the best thing ive ever bought. it fits my needs. windows is obviously no slouch either but what i need and want in my life, the ipad is most effective at. make your own decisions, friends.

Wait! You’re comparing an iOS device, to one that runs Windows?
Hahahahahaha. So stupid.
No one calls them transformers.
An iPad even with a keyboard and mouse, still can’t do what Windows does.
Case closed, the iPad loses!
