I live in Cornwall, UK. I wear earbuds in public and everyone does a double take then doesn’t bother to speak to me because they think I can’t hear them. I swear if I buy smart glasses and wear them in public I would be the only one in the entire county.

It will be interesting to see how Apple integrates smart glasses in their ecosystem but I think a key function would be the understanding of the real world in front of the viewer. This opens up all kinds of opportunities that go beyond what the phone already does: in context tourist info, shopping info, route guidance, objects identification (fruits, birds, cars, shoes etc), person identification (with formal permission) etc, all kinds of infos that could be channeled into existing Apple apps like Contacts, Journal, Notes, Calendar, Photos etc. I think Google has an edge on understanding the real world with an existing app for phones…

Fake they saying that apple makes athe glasses for 10 years and I never seen any proof

  47. @Grunchy005

    October 11, 2025 at 2:33 pm

0:18 “Tech companies are pushing us toward their vision of a new world.” What’s interesting is only vendors want artificial intelligence, and none of the customers.
Gee, I wonder how this is going to work out (not really).

  48. @crp5591

    October 11, 2025 at 3:34 pm

Neat tech! THIS I would do before I would attach a brick to my head (Vision Pro). These would be far less obtrusive and I feel that Apple would just do the ecosystem and hardware integration MUCH better than Meta ever could.

  49. @ryanogden1688

    October 11, 2025 at 7:42 pm

I’m excited for Apple Glasses because:

    1) Driving directions. It’s not safe for me to be looking back and forth from the road to my phone.

    2) Replacing my computer monitors. Even if this is an eventual feature, that would help me decide if they’re worth their price. I could just ask if they’re more or less expensive than a monitor

  50. @tpf4292

    October 11, 2025 at 9:02 pm

From now, when it comes to a new product category, I will only get it when Apple rolls out their version. I’ve tried the Google Glass, two VR sets, and two foldable phones. None of was quite there to be called revolutionary, or even evolutionary. For all of them, the problem is that the total is much less than the sum of the parts.
