Those toggle buttons don’t look material at all… I struggle to believe they’d scrap material design mainstays. If they are ho boy it’s gonna be a big one.

It’s like most of the features here had already been introduced on Nokia Windows Phone in the past, centralized messaging for example.

And ditching material design for this glassy flat look? I don’t think so.

So we know Android has widgets forever. But each Android release Android becomes iOS look alike… As if nothing original is coming from Google for years, even Privacy is taken from Apple. Apple does,, all follows. This is the state of Android for the last few years. SAD.

That UI doesn’t look appealing. Weird color choice, too much open space and if they wanted to put icons lower in the quick settings to make it easier for one handed use – then put the icons on the bottom and let us swipe up to access notifications.

February 12, 2021 at 5:55 pm
Finally. Android is steering away from IOS and is finally making sense.
Edit:… Finally… Android is Android, but with some IOS and One UI for some reason…
They should also try to have the notification and control shortcuts be pulled up from the bottom like in previous IOS versions.
Also, I think android will like this navigation Idea of mine..
First off, the navigation..
I think android can give the current on-screen button navigation on android some modernization. like making it compact and fit into a small bubble. This bubble can be pulled down from a hidden bar which you can drag and place on any side of the screen. This bar contains all the navigation buttons on one pill and can only be used on apps without any back button. The UI when this navigation style is chosen will change. The whole entirety of the UI, including the stock apps it comes with will now feature a back button or exit button or the button where it takes you to a place where you can see all the background running apps or apps that you’ve used before (forgot the name). like if you go to the messages, you’d see an exit button on the lower part or the other one on the app. If you go to the setting, the same thing. Cameras, same thing. File Manager, same thing. Every stock apps will have this feature.
In the launcher, you will see no gesture buttons or any sort of navigation. When you want to go to the place where you can see the apps you’ve used, you’d have to do this. When you’re at the home screen, pulling up and then letting go afterwards will reveal it. And if you’re in the app tray, you can swipe left or right from the edge of the screen and it will appear in a form of a window.
As for the google assistant. I think good can just make a dedicated button for that one, or maybe have a mic icon on the homescreen.
