AI is getting so advanced. Our government is so behind. Someone should run for President on this issue. That person should be smart and enjoy math.

I don’t understand. What are they talking about ?
What is a job ? Is it a animal ? A monkey ? Do they talk about saving monkeys from extinction ?
I feel so sad. Bloomberg is a level too high for my understanding. I didn’t go to university. Too expansive . . . But I look the videos and I try day after day to understand. I make a lot of effort. You can believe me. It’s true.

They are talking about “Artificial Intelligence”, or AI. It is a field of study that has existed for many decades, but has now become very popular. Tech companies are using AI-based techniques to fundamentally change how certain jobs are performed. This can have a large impact on the economies of countries, and the job market. In this video they are trying to figure out what kind of jobs might be affected in the future. Go ahead and learn about the field more yourself, you will find it very useful a few years later. Good luck!

You both use the terms “monkey,” “they” and “it” which I find to have racist/sexist undertones. The original question is not about AI technology but the target audience of AI. If people would start listening and stop talking, questions will be addressed; and we, Bloomberg and its audience, can move forward in our discussions on the advancement of AI. The target audience for AI are all living organisms. As the motor vehicle replaced the duties of the horse for travel, we as a society already know that AI personal assistants (like Amazon Echo/Google Assistant) are becoming more widely accepted as a companion rather than animals, like the bird, cat and dog. ISS launched into space the first AI robot (IBM Watson) as a personal assistant to a German astronaut. AI is an evolution of technology to aid all living organisms in doing the less mundane tasks so that we (living organisms) collectively and particularly humans can evolve into higher realms of thinking, not for a single class or race of people—-equally for us all.

@civilwarauthor – If you do a new search, you will discover better rhetoric to try to sell the deadly and venomous ‘equality’ ideology. The equality of individuals is a nonsense and a disguised way of lowering humanity by pulling the best of us down, toward decadence and degeneration.
It is a perverse oligarchic tactic, usually reserved for mediocre who need to lower others to dominate, and who, I assume, will not deceive anyone here.
P.S .: I do not care about your hidden accusations of racism. I assume everything that I am, and all that I say. I am racist because I am intelligent and as result, I perceive the existence of races. If I like Dobermanns, it’s because I love this breed more than others because of their unique characteristics.
I could stop being racist if you put a peacock in the White House as president. This will be the proof of the equality concept for us all.
I wish you a good and pleasant day. 🙂

Now that our cards are on the table, let’s have a real discussion about Artificial Intelligence. I am not commenting to change your belief system, rather to open up a dialog on the topic at hand—AI, jobs and the audience/users of AI. Thanks for your response and candor; it is better when we open up. Have a great day!

Devil’s advocate, someone from a Tech company is talking up AI? Isn’t that a bit ironic because they ultimately want to sell the tech? What if they are exaggerating the claims? Factors to consider:
1. Gartner Hype cycle
2. IT projects historically have a 30% success rate
3. From a money making perspective, v1 of AI can’t be too good, because how are they going to make more money later? What will they try to sell next?
What eventually happens might not play out exactly as predicted

The problem here with AI if it occurs will be when there will be a comparison between a human and an AI carrier.. AI may not be just a software down the future but it might develop into a race or a species or even a religion to be hyperbolically imagining it.. it has been witnessed historically that one race will always be biased and inclined towards members of the same race or species or even cult.. people from different economic backgrounds have done that, people of the same color have behaved the same way.. people of the same religion prefer eachother more than they do all else..and with the augmentation of AI the new breed if it evolves into those super intelligent beings will not stop itself from being biased towards its own kind and this very nature of behaviour might emerge to be the cause or trigger of the end of the human homo sapiens race.. but nobody knows.. there might be a whole deal of good that it could help us with before turning onto the judgement day!!..

Get ready for the next bubble in tech industry. AI is either really dumb or very smart for us to control. When you teach an AI to do certain tasks, it find ways to do it horribly and in a way that was not intended. There are examples of it available online e.g. someone created an AI hide and seek game. Rather than AI game characters hidding, they cornered the seeker behind a wall that will never escape and never find the characters.
