I like to google these people when I notice that Mum is listening to them. Sometimes you find some information that they don’t advertise about themselves on their channel.

For myself I wouldn’t bother because I tend not to pay attention to these people but unfortunately Mum does and it’s helpful to be able to check them out a bit and have a conversation with her about it.

Plus having that conversation means I can talk to her about any health concerns she might be having and direct her to a better qualified person or source of information.

Also, check the publisher, and the publication category. For example, if it’s published under “women’s fiction” but it’s pretending to be a health source on nutrition. Or it’s put out by a publisher that mostly does novels. Etc.

Wikipedia for brevity: Andrew David Huberman (born September 26, 1975) is an American neuroscientist and podcaster. He is an associate professor of neurobiology and ophthalmology at the Stanford University School of Medicine. Since 2021, he has hosted the Huberman Lab podcast, which despite its popularity has attracted criticism for promoting poorly supported health claims.[2][3][4][5][6] Huberman has promoted and partnered with health supplement companies.

Saying something has chemicals and that’s bad (water is a chemical). “If you can’t pronounce it don’t eat it” (plenty of people can’t pronounce dihydrogen monoxide). Never addressing that different people might have different needs (not everyone reacts the same to the same diet). Uses BMI but doesn’t address why it’s a flawed calculation. Demonizes carbs or fats as a blanket statement. Organic is automatically better, no valid explanation. Instead of a cookie you can eat 78 servings of something that’s not like a cookie in any way shape or form (fat free unsweetened yoghurt whip, blueberries, jello with sweetener, cucumber slices). Unseasoned chicken
