I rarely if ever feel the need to comment… I appreciate the video but the last couple of tips doesn’t work for the current times and highlighting those points seem out of touch. Spend time on experiences, spending time with others, hiring someone to clean your house or mowing your lawn.

you can do most of those things even in covid. yes its harder but Its still possible. I also feel the need to mention that not everywhere is in the complete social isolation of the US and this advice works even beyond that. Calling this out of touch is weird its just not focused spesificaly on covid.

      March 3, 2021 at 10:02 pm

That point jumped out at me too, especially after she pointed out “Do the things that save you time” right after saying “Delete the delivery apps”

    • maxybaer123

      March 3, 2021 at 10:10 pm

@robrasti delivery apps often convince you to spend money where you otherwise could get food easily. Yes they “save time” but their existance is a temptation to spend alot of money for not much gain. Its a behavioral thing. if you makes spending money less easy you will do it less and not suffer much. if you make spending money easy it becomes an effort to resist doing so.

I support the general idea of financial well-being. That said, life insurance isn’t something you SHOULD DEFINITELY sign up for if you don’t have it. Instead of just telling people who don’t have it to get it, tell them to research WHY people get life insurance so they can determine for themselves if it makes sense to get.

1:08 50$ is a low cost cell phone provider? WTH?
Does this look expensive AF to me because I’m French?
Or is it expensive to you too Americans?

    • Jessie Regula

      March 3, 2021 at 7:54 pm

That’s about as cheap as it gets here. I’m on a family plan ($110 for 3 of us, unlimited everything) but we got lucky. Most providers say it’s “only 55 a month!” but that’s before taxes, service charges, possible overages, data throttling, etc. Most people I know pay between $100 and $150 a month just for themselves.

Can I ask how much you’re used to? I decided to take her advice and start shopping around for a new country.

    • Enoch Clark Zhao

@Jessie Regula I’m on T-Mobile with 12 lines. We all just pay $30/line everything unlimited.

    • Ele

      March 4, 2021 at 2:58 pm

I pay 8 euros (about 7 dollars) every month. I have unlimited phone calls and texts and 100 giga (I can whatch YT, Netflix, work from home and do zoom meeting and never finish them). I live in Italy. People here spend linke 10/15 max

    • Jessie Regula

      March 5, 2021 at 8:07 pm

Thought I’d take a second to thank everyone for their feedback. I never realized much more expensive it is here for literally no reason. The only monthly expense I have that’s as cheap as everyone else’s unlimited phone plan is my Hulu subscription.

    • Ele

      March 5, 2021 at 8:31 pm

@Jessie Regula that’s crazy, it is so expensive. I switched plan because I was paying 12€/month and i thought it was too much! Can I ask you how much does Netflix cost in the US?

    • Ele

      March 5, 2021 at 8:32 pm

@Joannot in Italy too, we have the same prices!

    • Jessie Regula

      March 5, 2021 at 9:00 pm

@Ele It’s $8.99 (7.54) for basic (one screen, no HD), $13.99 (11.74) for standard, and $17.99 (15.09) for premium (multiple screens, 4k, etc). But it’s okay because it’s included in my parents $300 (251.67) a month cable/internet bill. (Sarcasm. Decent internet starts at around $100 (83.89) here).

    • Ele

      March 5, 2021 at 9:22 pm

@Jessie Regula ahahah i read 300 and i was really scared 😅 okay Netflix prices are the same. But we pay 25/40 (it may vary) every month for internet cable at home.

You only need life insurance if you have financial dependents. And using a 401k for your retirement planning isn’t right for everyone, especially if your company doesn’t provide a match, even if you work for a for-profit company that offers a 401k.

This is all nice and all, but there are tons of resources out there on how to spend or save the money you have. I need coaching and mentoring on how to make more money so that I can manage that money. Financial institutions should help individual learn how to make more money so that they can do more with that money.
