I don’t see why eBay shareholders would vote for what is being offered. Their stock value has doubled in the last two years and they receive dividends. The only way to get them to vote for a sale is an all cash offer at a premium price.

  6. @mahollow306

    July 16, 2026 at 7:40 pm

$GME has factually been a turd of an investment since the Sneeze.

It’s basically traded flat for years now while Cohen has done nothing with the cash hoard gained from robbing shareholders in these past ‘liquidity events’. So when I hear him talk shareholder value, it’s disingenuous. No one calls him out. Yes, he’s done admirably in stabilizing a dying company but the share price doesn’t reflect it. His eBay rhetoric is getting tiresome and repetitive but Gamestop shareholders will continue being enthusiastic bagholders with or without eBay.

Seriously though, in any other environment you’d see at least a few of the big players decide that Ryan has does the impossible with Gamestop. Yet here we are, sure with plenty of risk still on the table, but no one will say they believe it’s possible or that it could work out. Fascinating.

Unlikeable, unrealistic and ignorant – no wonder no one wants to deal with the man. Please go back to selling fungible tokens because that worked out well. The business became successful because GameStop became “meme stock’ to hurt those going short on the stock grow up !

  54. @Bot_967

    July 18, 2026 at 3:14 am

The interview actually wasn’t that bad with those questions. They are legitimate concerns in the eyes of a non bias skeptic that isnt a superstonk ape. I legitimately wanted to know wth they learned with the nft marketplace project. I also wanted to know why I would ever want to visit a Game Stop other than pickup some collective. What was laid out is basically it just turns into a node for an authentication sector. But if I’m not using that and there is no such thing as a physical game….why go to the store? Ryan is missing the key aspect of what’s driving collectibles which is nostalgia. Older people now with money spend it on collectibles. But Gme storefront itself is part of that nostalgia and because the core competency of the company isn’t profitable he’s shifting it to be more faceless when he could be leveraging the nostalgia of the storefront brand more. Which makes sense in a dying sector, however there are ways of making it more synergistic with the collectibles market

  57. @24theMoney

Ebay can strike Cohen at any time of their choosing. Call it $MULN or $APE 2.0
    – Under eBay’s corporate charter (as filed with the SEC), the Board of Directors has the sole power to issue preferred stock, at any time without requiring further approval or a vote from common shareholders, and determine the specific preferences, rights, and privileges attached to those shares. LOL!

A better idea is to have Nintendo buy Gamestop. So they can sell only their physical games and their Pokemon cards at the stores. Just sell failing Gamestop to Nintendo for half price..Nintendo will do a much better job. Ryan Cohen should just start a new eBay. There is plenty of market shae to take..eBay is outdated. Just start over from scratch. I could start a new eBay from my house using A! Why waste money on buying eBay? AI is going to make every Nasdaq stock worthless very soon since millions of people can just start their own eBay and Amazon. In fact small online sellers don’t even have to charge sales tax. They have a huge competove advantage over Amazon and eBay! Billionaires will also be obsolete. We will start eBay and Amazon’s so cheaply it will make their money no longer necessary. Amazon and eBay markeshare will be destroyed by a death by a thousand small cuts. AI is the future. It’s just a matter of time

  64. @actionfigurearchive9002

    July 18, 2026 at 5:10 pm

Remember this host was picked by an aging frat bro corporate manager. Index finger ring. Slightly too-big glasses. Effeminate slight lisp. What a fraud. He gets 30 minutes with a great businessman and you ask no real questions about gme’s business. He picks negative talking points and refuses to take responsibility for the charade by saying he’s just representing shareholders on social media. This “journalist” is a charlatan and would be seen as such by a true competitive, capitalist society.

At first, I thought the proposal to buy eBay was a joke. However, the more I watch Ryan not giving up on buying eBay…he has a solid point. GameStop and eBay together makes a lot of sense strategically. He’s also putting his own money where his mouth is. You can’t really ask for anything better than that when the CEO has skin in the game.
