I went looking for hopeful TED talks on this subject and while this is great, as an American it is not necessarily making me feel more hopeful unfortunately. Good conversation, nevertheless.

That hopelessness you feel is due to your own leaders. Is it enough yet? Have you had enough of serving greed? Is it time for a change yet? When is enough, enough?

Very well said. American leaders only serve greed. And thus, everything they do is about consolidating power and concentrating wealth into the hands of the few. Let’s leave them to destroy their own people.

Many probably just see current economic system as circular in its core which means… turnover equals well-being..and don’t know anything else to do.
Theres nothing different about it on this continent than that.
There is 0 equality and quality control in anything they do when they give free hands for abusers to monetize via legislation… Often there’s nothing legal about it either. There’s just no one to help… Because even the help is abuse.
What trickles down is fucking endless abusive bullshit to the top of my head.
Not the only one but definately not complaining for nothing. But if anyone is under illusion that if you get retarded or something… That you’ll be ok. No.. you won’t. Some will be… Some will be just driven into bankruptcy homelessness and financial and even human rights abuse endlessly.. threats of violence including by dumbasses… Or extortion robbery fraud.
What this actually means to me.. is that they are tired of controlling and moderating information of another continent and want the people on those continents to do it themselves..?
Idk im fucking tired
Wealth maybe ought to be in hands of the few if hands of the many dont utilize it well… Im really not sure.

This is actually interesting.. How much of the perceived greed of the leader is actually greed of the many or just incompetence and mistakes etc..
That much I did calculate that top 10-20% of earnings amongst companies and individuals are still disproportionately big and cover rest of us with like 400% Multiplier or something.
Aka taking 1% from their liquid income would be like taking 4% from the rest 80-90% of population minimum and bottom 20% is struggling to pay for Normal life constantly future proofing impossible which is disproportionately large harm.
I kind of get money control to guide money to better ends (if that is truly happening) If and only if all income brackets have basic rights and needs met. Doesnt happen.

The problem with this idea is to think that the objetives of the companies are the well been of the humanity instead of profit. Companies have not nationalities they have interests.
@JosPoortvliet
August 23, 2026 at 6:07 pm
@luislopezdenava7169 true of course. Does not take away that companies are affected by their government – which can pressure them to sling with its interests. And that means there is a risk in relying on foreign companies, esp to the degree we do today in the European IT sector…

excessive state surveillance degrades society to the point of failure… culture loses creativity & happiness. it is a particular problem in reactionary / dictatorial / authoritarian / theocratic states. it “self-corrects” painfully via internal destruction &/or failure in competition vs more civilized societies. state surveillance responds to every challenge with more crushing surveillance. no way to run an economy, or honor humanity.

That’s the neat part about Western economies, the technogarchy spy on you, and sell that data to everyone including the state… Whilst you are angry at the gov, the wealthy elite run the entire economy and legislature 😂

the core values of capitalism—such as the pursuit of profit, material accumulation, and self-interest—directly conflict with Jesus’s teachings on radical generosity, caring for the poor, and the spiritual dangers of wealth

Knowledge and information is power.. Thats why the technofuedalism is real, the entire class of wealth inequaility and economy is built around keeping the consumer slaves working poor and wealthy elite knowledge and power wealthy… Europe knows this, Europe had socialist revolutions… But global capitalism means far too much knowledge is being gate kept behind pay walls and private interests.

Funny. These left wings keeps talking about democracy but seems to have no idea that the most powerful dictator country China is using them to defeat what they claim sacred. What do they think China is doing? What do they think benefits the most to defeat the big tech company?? These liberals desperately need some recognition of cause /effect reality check.
