Your phone is NOT a medical device
If you’re short of breath, a pulse oximeter could tell you if your blood oxygen levels are getting dangerously low. But can a Galaxy phone or a wearable do the same thing?

There is no ‘wellness sense’ for pulsoxymetrics. This is complete bullshxxt……🤮

Because some people who test positive for covid-19 have unusually low blood oxygen even before they have other symptoms.

(ಠ▃ಠ) Why not just talk about pulse oximeters brands and comparing FDA approved models as the only option to consider rather than going through the rigamarole of muddying the waters, wondering and comparing two different intentioned products when it’s already known by the medical industry and disclosed by software developers. I think you’re just wasting peoples time and just making a medical reality more confusing. What’s next from you guys a Covid19 themed report on apples vs oranges?

Strange, when they debuted that blood pressure feature using the light sensor on S9, it said it was just an experimental feature but I thought it should come by default for all future phones. Guess they’re canceling features on the phones to push smartwatch sales lol.

Blood oxygen level is an important measurement as to whether the patient needs ECMO because unlike elderlies, young people might not display symptoms as soon as their brains are short of oxygen.

Figuring out your baseline SPO2 levels is important because everyone has a different baseline. Otherwise it is like comparing apples and oranges.
