You can’t ignore rugged phones any longer
They’re tough, waterproof and often slim, and offer features your iPhone or Galaxy device can’t match. Learn the new attributes you should keep in mind next time you go to buy another phone.

While explaining the IP ratings, why did you use feet for Samsung and meters for the rest?
It’s misleading as at first I thought the Samsung had the better water resistance

Deng! I want more like these by Cooley. He totally murdered modern slick designed phones …. hahaha. And you have to agree with him! Why the heck are speakers mounted on the bottom edge? Set aside smart phones, why are most laptop speakers bottom firing???? Who told these manufacturers that’s where we prefer them???

CNET _really_ needs to put affiliate links in the description. The video is useless unless those who are interested in rugged phones actually buy one. Also, why not review them all and pick a winner on your website and link to that?

Samsung Galaxy Xcover Pro: “rugged sibling of the galaxy line”… ? ALL phones from Samsung is called “Galaxy”.. So witch series? A series?
Light sprays of liquid like in the video requires only a lower IP rating. High pressure spray requires IP x9 (First number is dust resistance and last number is water resistance level)
Also: Many phones (like Samsung etc) give you the option so you can remap the power button to another app like push to talk 🙂 I.e: Doubletap or hold to open a selected app.

A problem that I have notices with all rugged phones, except possibly those from Samsung, is that they run old versions of Android and do not get security updates. It is therefore very possible that you will get infected with malware on these phones

Basically a statement of “We can’t afford to drop all these and break the screen to give you a true idea of the durability these withstand”.
