Make sure you tell your phone company that you can only make sim card copies in person not online.

      October 18, 2020 at 1:48 pm

@Caidan Murray They probably don’t have the authentication app. That is stronger than the common 2FA sms.

It doesn’t matter what broker you use, if someone gets your email, birthday, and passwords you’re fucked.

Banks get hacked everyday, this is nothing

    • luis abularach

      October 17, 2020 at 8:41 pm

Banks have people you can call so they stop all transaction immediately. Some of the people said they saw their account being hacked and Robinhood would not respond to any of their emails. They had to watch as all the money was pulled out of their account and they couldn’t do anything.

Nothing huh. They stole 993.23 from me. Which was money for my daughters medical needs. No big deal huh. I hope they all get murdered in broad daylight

Jesus, why does wallstreet really not want people investing on apps?

    • Mr. Berry

      October 17, 2020 at 1:55 pm

They do. Just not on a low quality app beyond pretty UX/UI.

Because it’s causing abnormal pattern, this what happened with Hertz or KoDak. New generation are changing everything and these guys don’t sleep anymore.

    • npcwill

      October 17, 2020 at 11:35 pm

@Persik II nailed it ! the retail investor now has a seat at the table and a good blitz from retail can upset the most wealthy very quickly !

    • Brenda Brenda

      October 18, 2020 at 12:49 am

Yeah, put 2 step verification on your email and Robinhood account and use a third party code generator app for 2 step. Literally impossible to get hacked virtually.

  6. Tong YG

    October 17, 2020 at 2:31 am

With so many new retail investors joining Robinhood, they need to step up their game and update their security. Is it too much for them to set up a number costumers can call?

  7. Naka Nation

    October 17, 2020 at 8:24 am

2000 plebs that use the same password on all their log ins lmao. Use two factor authentication and unique passwords on everything. I even change my password to my email every month.

    • OMW2FYB

      October 17, 2020 at 12:59 pm

It just said they had two-factor authentication lol

    • Naka Nation

      October 17, 2020 at 6:50 pm

@OMW2FYB when you turn on your TFA, Robinhood gives you a choice on how you wish to receive your one time use code. One of them being receiving it through your email. These people got hacked through their email. Out of all the people on Robinhood, it’s very likely that 2000 of them choose to receive their code through email instead of SMS.

Competition is what destroys true equality. They know this. The problem is, they destroyed everyone in their way to get where there are and are continuing to do so to remain in power. They utilized the concept of competition to get where they are and then shame the rest of the world for doing so. To draw sympathy for thier plight, they make mountains out of mole hills. The love of money…

TRADITIONAL BROKERS DONT WANT ROBINHOOD TO WIN THATS THE STORY

    • Leonardo Fonseca

      October 17, 2020 at 10:30 pm

traditional brokers get traffic from real investors. Not random people investing (more like betting) less than 5, 000 dollars on mainstream companies.

    • Mr. Berry

      October 18, 2020 at 1:05 am

Its not about traditional brokers vs new brokers. Its about quality brokers vs low quality ones.

M1 Finance is new, but they have a high quality experience. No news about system crashes for 2 business days, they aren’t getting hacked, and they don’t encourage high risk trading.

Moved my funds out of Robinhood immediately I didn’t know they didn’t have customer service.

The fact that a company that manages over a billion dollars of other peoples money doesn’t even have a phone number is completely insane. Get out of robinhood. I lost 6 grand and emailed robinhood 11 times and they didnt get back to me about my 6 grand for two weeks. Robinhood is borderline fraudulent.

2,000 accounts out of 13 million.

Why are these people talking about “hack”

People got phished. Fools got phished. Robinhoods systems didn’t get hacked.

    • Mr. Berry

      October 18, 2020 at 12:52 am

Their customer service didn’t help stop it either.

    • TheRedemptionRain

      October 18, 2020 at 12:57 am

@Brenda Brenda 2,000 retail investors aren’t going to influence shit lol, especially with 13 million accounts.

    • Brenda Brenda

      October 18, 2020 at 12:59 am

@TheRedemptionRain exactly, my point is this is only news to scare away people from Robinhood

    • Slayer-33

      October 18, 2020 at 1:07 am

      @Brenda Brenda exactly

    • conquer14

      October 18, 2020 at 1:21 am

@Brenda Brenda they need customer service at least. To make sure their account is safe even if the robinhood system didn’t get hacked.

      October 18, 2020 at 9:28 pm

I love how them not having a phone number to call is this huge issue people are pressing too.

    October 18, 2020 at 12:49 am

I don’t see how people can hack Into your account if they don’t know your email address or password. Without that hacking should be almost impossible.

    • Angela Jackson

      October 19, 2020 at 1:19 am

There are ways around this. A lot of ways around this.

Stock broker’s should copy Binance’s security features and make most of them mandatory to protect people from themselves. Crypto brokers get more hack attempts than most and Binance just keeps adding layers of security. It would be great to see it with all financial accounts.

    October 18, 2020 at 7:21 am

Robinhood didn’t get hacked. People fell for a phishing scam which tied to their email accounts and Robinhood accounts.
