rare to find real GOOD friends whom you can trust about money matters.

my “friends” always borrow and when you lend them, always late or forgets to pay back… worse, trick you to paying more on something they recommend cause they got commissions…

i’d rather be alone than be used by user-friendly friends

No one ever said you had to work for minimum wage. There are a lot of higher paying jobs that require skilled labor, not even necessarily college education. You could even start your own business and work for yourself. Anything less is just an excuse for not making anything of yourself. I had a minimum wage job at 14. By 21 I had built up enough skills to earn 4 times that without a degree in anything. At 23 I started my own business. 11 years later I’m still in business for myself. You make your own path through the decisions you make each and every day. If you have no desire to learn and build new skills each day to advance yourself, you’ll probably be stuck working that minimum wage job your entire life.

Please remember to hold off telling your friends EVERYTHING about your financial situation. Yes tipps and tricks are nice, but don’t treat your personal stuff too liberally! We have seen this with social, health and now financial information. The banks will profit from your behaviour and you will not have any controll over it, since “It S nOrMaL tO tAlK aBoUt AlL mY fInAnCiAl InFo”…

I put big extra payments on my mortgage and auto loan, because right now I might have less, but in the future it will save me a pile in interest expenses and years of making payments. I can’t wait to be 100% debt free.

Me: “Hey buddy, nice to see you again. Tell me, do you have any savings?”
    Friend: *eyes me warily* “why….?”

Bonus irony is that these videos have bots posting fake conversations pretending they’re people sharing positive experiences investing in cryptocurrency to scam others into giving their money to a total stranger. People are wary of talking about their finances for very good reason.

When I was in my 20s I spent money on unnecessary things: telescope, electric guitar, new speakers every year, etc. And I almost don’t use all this stuff. And only in my 30s I thought: if I didn’t spent all this money, but invest it, I’d triple this money in 3-5 years! But unfortunately you can’t go back in time. But better late than never.

Exemplifying the UK with regards to taxes is such a misnomer. Most people here are on PAYE and never need to work out or pay their taxes. It’s done automatically.

Why not start talking to your colleagues about your wage and comparing with each other to see if any of you are earning enough??
