This girl has literally done nothing good except Game of Thrones – and in GoT, she was literally being controlled as a puppet. So that it would turn out good.

Wtf are you talking about? She’s an actor like everybody else on the show.

@Ti My just because you are on a television show or in a movie and being paid for it… Doesn’t give you a right to be called an actor. She was decent for the role, because the role didn’t actually require any acting skills. Most child roles don’t.

Another kid actor clinging on to fame in adult life. It helps if you can actually act. The girl who played her sister is equally as talentless. Now she’s doing TED talks. Almost spat my brew out lol

Exactly – and when she starts to realise that she has no fame anymore and that he only gets offered roles in absolute bad b-movies with a extremely low paycheque.. when that day comes, she will, just like every other ex-famous woman – create a 0nlyfans and advertise it and realise what an easy hustle that is.

This has to be the wrong clip.
Or maybe the actual context of the video is betrayed by the title?

To be fair, Ted Talks do seem to just take anyone… They have some great ones but this is obviously one of the bad ones. She can’t even perform public speaking well.

Edit: I get it now! The title of the video is saying that she’s gone nowhere because she only had fame and no talent.

What carries you even further is personal connections. The reality is it’s about who you know and not what you know.

    • R

      October 19, 2022 at 8:54 pm

Yeah in the end its all about the connections. TED talks really fell off when they let literally anyone come on to talk about literally anything.

There’s quite a few people in the comments here who’d do well to reflect on why they feel the need to personally attack this actress. Regardless on whether you think she’s good or not, there’s no need to put her down just to make yourselves feel better. That is just sad.

    • rizwan

      October 20, 2022 at 7:59 am

People are not attacking her, people are saying that the title is not realistic.

Why is everyone hating? I think she’s great

    • Hollow Oak

      October 21, 2022 at 2:18 am

Because nothing she said has anything to do with talent as titled in the clip, shes literally just patting herself on the back and giving nothing of value

    • Carly D

      October 22, 2022 at 1:40 am

@Hollow Oak it’s just a short clip of it though. It’s like writing an essay, you’re supposed to sound confident in yourself even if you don’t feel it 100% to drive the message home. The clip is chopped and screwed, but from context clues I’m assuming the theme is to follow your dreams and keep going in the face of failure. She didn’t describe Arya as a flawless, beautiful young girl but yet she said she was perfect for the PART. She said she was too young at the start to comprehend the fear of failure. A lot of what she’s describing is yes, tenacity, but also circumstance and embracing your uniqueness. What’s wrong with that?

    • Hollow Oak

      October 22, 2022 at 2:47 am

@Carly D To me and many others it came off as “I’m lucky I’m me and could go to acting school. Thats why I got the part.” The extremely overused “just be yourself” is maybe a cool message for children, but for a TED talk? No, there is no missing context that adds value to this clip though, the whole talk is about herself, and towards the end, the shilling of some app she was releasing. People aren’t necessarily mad at maisie here, but are upset with what TED has become. This might work for tedx but is overall nowhere near the quality of thoughts and ideas shared when TED was fresh. She literally ended with an unironic “dare to follow your dreams.” Now TED seems to be self promotion for rich and famous people, and the saturated, surface level takes from them have become satire at this point
