For many years Apple has stolen a lot more for Android. That is 100% a fact

I mean this is what happens when BigTech is consolidated to one area with immense talent around it. Company news is shared just by talking with friends.

hhhhhhhhhhhh ……..GOOGLE is private can censor SO dont use GOOGLE .
……. US COURTS upheld the dismissal of a lawsuit against Google and YouTube by Prager University, a conservative nonprofit run by radio talk show host Dennis Prager.
PragerU claimed that YouTube’s opposition to its political views led it to tag dozens of videos on such topics as abortion, gun rights, Islam and terrorism for its “Restricted Mode” setting, and block third parties from advertising on the videos.
Writing for the appeals court, however, Circuit Judge Margaret McKeown said YouTube was a private forum despite its “ubiquity” and public accessibility, and hosting videos did not make it a “state actor” for purposes of the First AmendmenT.
SITES like google,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Bing. Bing is easily one of the biggest Google alternatives online. ……Yahoo. Yahoo is another one of the top sites search engines like Google online. Yahoo has been around for a very long time and has a huge database.
Ask. Ask, formerly known as AskJeeves, is one of the best sites like Google that is another old timer. ……………….Dogpile. Dogpile is similar to Google, yet remains very different. Dogpile will not appeal to everyone, but those who enjoy it, really love making it their best search engine.
………..DuckDuckGo. DuckDuckGo is another one of the best private search engines online. This site focuses primarily on keeping you anonymous the entire time.

Apple used to target Microsoft… Apple just hates competition (or “owner” freedom as in the right-to-repair).
It’s that infantile war cry: Ford vs GM, Red vs Blue, Black vs White, Religion… [don’t go there; endless]
I guess they need an enemy to rally the troops; we haven’t evolved enough yet it seems.

False dichotomy. They are both part of the Big Tech evil empire. Both enemies of the people.

Android was a direct competition to Windows Mobile 5.0 and it simply developed further its core principles. Back at the time Apple and iPhones were quite irrelevant. They were not in the equation at all. The same rivalry that existed in the PC world – Windows vs Linux has been taken to the mobile front. The only thing that set Apple apart was their early business model to put all existing apps under one roof. Windows Mobile was a mess in that respect. One had to visit many different websites and buy license keys for the specific program. So quite logically when Windows Mobile slowly died Android took over but it had a dedicated store.

    • rao siddharth

      July 28, 2021 at 1:19 am

@Vishal Kulkarni the features you are talking about is due to tight integration of the system, handoff and airdrop like features have been seen by oem’s like being company specific. I mean to say was, a bigger eco system like apple isn’t innovating much but a very discrete eco system is bringing features to the table.

GOOGLE absolutely simulated Apple! With their “patents” Everyone needs to understand that “You know the reason Apple feels like it’s behind in Tech!” It’s because they are inviting its own tech! That can easily steal the tech from another Company. Like google or Samsung. Or whatever! Apple always make their own tech! I understand there are times when people or Companies can invite a idea at the same time! But if you look at the history of Samsung. They absolutely stolen tech from Apple! 😒

Eric Schimdt probably knew about the iPhone project as early as 2005. Though in the end, Android as a platform wasn’t a direct competitor to iPhone, it was the companies that made the hardware and use the software and services. Android was more meant to take over Windows Mobile. Samsung is the direct competitor to iPhone, because Samsung sells hardware like Apple.

  36. Zachary Zachow

What Steve didn’t understand was that Apple was creating new standards. You can’t expect every tool to be different, because it would make assembly and use a nightmare for the consumer. Apple should just get over themselves and own it when they make great strides in development. The company should be celebrating others using their ideas because it shows the strength of the idea and the further advancement of humanity that they had a hand in. Just own it. Stop making it a cash game

How is android a rip off of Apple when Android is like 5 years ahead of Apple in software. Everything new in iOS is always a rip off of Android. There are even things like widgets that Android had for 10 years. AOD, 120hz, 30 to 120w charging , maps, etc. Apple maps still sucks.

I like google before because its easy to used but now Google sucks specially the Privacy part, I’m using android for over 8 years but now everything is allowed in Android even the scammers that sucks money to you. Now I avoid Android because apps cannot work if you would not agree on there tracking policy unlike with Apple apps.

GUIs in general, are an evolution in user interfaces. The development always goes the route of “how can we make this better or easier to use”. Do they rip-off each other …yes.

All companies make their own apps, ios etc to suit the customers/clients needs at this day and age almost everything has been invented. Innovation was built to improve on someone’s work in one way or another. My 2 cents

It’s all the same. Burger King and McDonalds are competitors but I can get a burger, fries, soda and nuggets from both places. Pepsi and Coke are both soda but with different labels. iOS and Android are the same. Once one comes out with a feature the other follows. Everything is just cyclical
