I think the ultimate evolution of these glasses will be when you can control robotics with them. Since humanoid robots are becoming a thing

It’s just not as convenient as the quest controllers since you can’t pop out the batteries. It also wouldn’t have the same type of haptics.

  6. @CVDOnTwoWheels

He stated that they want more developers, apps and devices to integrate, but all the other videos I’ve seen they have explicitly said that there is no SDK that is being opened up for the Displays (I did see shortly after the Connect conference that they released an SDK for the regular meta glasses). Did he mention anything about opening up the SDK and integrating the Display apis?

    • @CVDOnTwoWheels

They tilt, both on Bos and Mark’s latest interview seems like the display is slightly heavier than the other side, it’s subtle but hard not to notice the tild to the right over time.

Sorry but these glasses are too BIG and BULKY looking. Its for that reason it’s a BIG NO for me and I believe the reason that MANY people will not purchase them…If it looks terrible on your face people will not wear them NO MATTER how many features they offer. I could never wear something that BIG on my face. So I think Meta totally missed the boat on the style of these glasses. I’m actually looking for something smaller in height then the regular Meta smart glasses NOT larger and bulkier that the gen 2 or gen 1 Meta Ray-Ban glasses. Look I know there is a lot of tech built in but how did Rokid create a significantly smaller and LIGHTER version (49g) of smart glasses with all of the same and more capability as these new Meta Ray-Ban Displays….so I’m not solely buying…”it’s because of all the tech argument”. Maybe v3 will be a more normal size and lighter frame…

  10. @CNET

    September 26, 2025 at 3:30 pm

    Per Boz on Threads:
“Tiny correction: When talking about waveguides I meant that brightness and efficiency were advantages of geometric waveguides, not surface relief gratings. I just said the wrong one. =)”

  11. @nninehundredmixalot2653

    September 26, 2025 at 3:37 pm

How will you test them if they don’t make them compatible with your prescription? Either way … So glad for the question about those of us who wear prescription lenses. Not the most helpful answer … It’s funny to me that Meta wants people to wear glasses who don’t wear glasses but isn’t ready to make those same glasss available to those who DO already wear glasses. It’ll be interesting to see how it goes.

My biggest fear with these glasses is privacy. With Meta’s latest terms and conditions, they give themselves the right to use your content. I can hardly imagine photos of my children ending up on Meta’s servers
or worse, in industries where data is sensitive, we are waiting for the SDK to know whether we will be able to do what we want, or if we will always be forced to stay connected to Meta’s servers.

All these new creations need shutdown and removed from all platforms! It’s soo sad how many ppl are BRAINWASHED & clueless about what those minions are doing right in front of us! It’s all about replacing humanity, control & more money!! Stop being gullible folks

  38. @WigganNuG

    September 27, 2025 at 8:38 pm

Does the camera have zoom capability? Cause a sick and I think very useful feature would be if you could zoom in with the camera to see things far away on the display in the glasses! THAT would be a killer feature.

  39. @WigganNuG

    September 27, 2025 at 8:47 pm

Another great feature would be using the glasses in conjunction with live action field games like laser tag / paint ball or Airsoft mil sim games. Could be great for more immersive teamplay with communication and the map feature in the display to give waypoints or spot enemy’s between teammates that are operating in different locations on a battlefield… probably more an Airsoft Mil Sim feature for that. Possibly even working virtual crosshair calibrating to the weapon your holding, or just even heads up displays showing health stats of yourself your teammates and possibly enemy’s. You would also utilize virtual world objects like “trip wires” , “camera’s” and “audio devices” in order to set traps or spy on enemy communications. This would need to be working with a network and virtual overlay/ Unity map of the real world on the the discrete playing field the glasses are operating in and communicating as clients to a kind of network game server similar to how modern FPS games like Call Of Duty or Battlefield work.
