It’s not just about the collection; it’s about the memories and pure nostalgia.

Console companies don’t want us to buy physical discs because, for example, if my cousin visits, he often trades his used game for one from my collection that he’s never played. When this happens, there’s no need to buy a new game, and that cuts into the profits for these companies. They want to stop that because sharing physical discs across multiple consoles hurts their revenue.

But these discs create connections. They bring friends together—people who care for each other, real pals. On the other hand, digital games encourage selfishness, arrogance, and greed, as they can’t be shared or traded. If you own a digital game, you can’t even use it on multiple accounts without buying it again for each one.

That’s why I prefer discs. There’s a deeper meaning behind collecting them. Plus, companies can’t pull business tricks with physical copies, like removing digital games from stores without refunds. With physical discs, even if a game is no longer available digitally, you can still play it.

There are pros and cons, but I choose physical discs. They come with cover art, booklets, and extras that we used to enjoy just as much as the game itself. Unfortunately, people who have only ever played digital games don’t understand that. They’ve never experienced the joy of physical copies, so they can’t compare. To them, digital games seem perfect because they don’t know what they’re missing.

The shift to digital gaming is happening slowly, one step at a time, so people don’t notice or push back against the companies. Pretty sneaky, right?

I hope this makes sense to you.

I like the drive. I can use my ps5 to watch ultra high definition movies.

1TB isn’t enough for a console with no disc drive. Call of duty going to take up 500gb alone lol

Yea 2tb needs to be the new standard

Nowadays, internet is fast enough to download a game in few minutes

@@whatgacaThe issue is the size of the storage, not how fast a system can download content.

      October 15, 2024 at 11:32 pm

@@silentkill450 No its not. 1TB is enough to install few major titles. It is not like you can play multiple games in parallel, why does it matter?

Definitely want the disc if the Xbox ever wipes you can always reload with a disc and share it with my son instead fo buying an other also can sell to buy something new when you don’t need or finished the game trying to stop all this so they can take every penny you got

Well other than more storage they could’ve given us more upgrades or at least less volume now that the drive is gone.. but all in all i prefer discless consoles

I will also say that the Xbox controller has always sucked especially now. The fact you need batteries to run the controller is wild and they should just allow you to plug and play
