The company’s first flight yoke controller doesn’t stick the landing and is on the pricey side, but it’s still a ton of fun to use. Xbox users will be happy to know they finally have a proper yoke solution that works straight out of the box.

Can this effectively teach me some basics about flying a plane
Chase Evans
December 23, 2021 at 5:16 pm
Absolutely, MSFS does a fine job at teaching the important essentials while the VelocityOne Flight yoke helps with the immersion and builds muscle memory. I would recommend adding foot pedals to your setup if you find you are enjoying flying.

The fact that rudder controls are a trigger and not a pair of pedals in honestly a deal breaker for me, other wise is a pretty perfect product and I would buy if it wasn’t for that. Maybe in a next gen it’ll come with rudder pedals and not a trigger, then I’ll buy it

I wonder if I can buy a separate pair of rudders and have them work with the system.

True, but you don’t need them? I’ve mapped à couple of left buttons to allow trim etc., and ,keèp my hands on the yoke? Brakes on the front l & r buttons

Looks good but why didn’t the plane bank left when he turned the control left? Doesn’t seem very responsive from the video demo
Chase Evans
December 23, 2021 at 5:20 pm
I learned that there is a 20% S-curve on the roll axis by default within MSFS. That is the reason the yoke movement isn’t quite 1:1 but you can change this in the MSFS settings.

Hey guys, Chase here! I see some questions about the head tracking– I am using the Tobii Eye Tracker 5 to translate my head movements into the game. Reply to this comment with any other questions you have, whether about the VelocityOne Flight or flight sim peripherals in general!
Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoyed the video.

Small, precise movement on the pitch is a tad juddering? Now I’ve noticed when using the rudder on the xbox version, the vhs map zooms out? Not traced the error yet?

I setup the velocity one yesterday afternoon. And I X-Plane 11. The only problem is that X-Plane 11 recognizes the controller, but it doesn’t setup the buttons and stuff like that. I have not tried MSFS 2020 yet. But I hear that MSFS is user friendly with this controller package. I have written X-Plane 11 service to see how they are going to handle this. I did read an email saying the X-Plane was going to have a software file that was going to help this. I certainly hope they do. I must confess I was rather disappointed that X-Plane is not really ready to handle this package.

@cnet you’re wrong in saying it’s the only all in one set. Logitech sells one, I have it. Comes with yoke, throttle and rudder pedals.

Gotta give CNET credit. They have a ton of enthusiast on the ready for just about any category to give detailed and robust reviews. You would rarely get reviews like this outside of a flight sim YouTube channel. Kudos 👍🏾

I wish it had rudder pedals…. as a pilot I hate the guy of flight controls that are “so close” but having a major set of controls moved on me, I don’t really like the idea of hopping in an airplane and accidentally trying to use the rudder triggers when I need rudder during a landing….
