From her stoop in Brooklyn, singer-songwriter Madison McFerrin shares her experience singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” for Hilary Clinton’s presidential campaign in 2016 — a moment that pushed her to become her best self — and performs “TRY,” a song she wrote about chasing your dreams despite what others say.

I very rarely dislike a music, yet I listen from classical to psytrance hitech everything. But this just annoys me, not your voice, just the entire composition sucks for me, But the message is great try 😉 .

Just as individuals need time to heal…. because its an active effort; so do Nation-States.

Trump was objectively the worst president in American history; he was a nonstop national embarrassment, and a constant security concern.

Btw, what happened at the Capitol was just plain unAmerican; those rioters weren’t patriots, and their behavior was definitely that of misguided individuals…..who are clearly of touch with reality.

After the military my perception of being a Citizen and the responsibility of being one resonated with me quite a bit. And i feel as if I have a vested interest, having put skin in the game.

That being said….. I highly recommend people taking the time to watch the livestream of our own government on C-SPAN; to see and hear for one’s self, what’s said and done….without spin or biases of MSM.

Not to mention the daily transcripts are made available on the Congress, Senate, and Supreme Court websites.

Even if someone had the due diligence to be a properly informed/ responsible voter, it’s still hard to get an accurate picture of all facets involved; but its not hard to be a good Citizen.

To call out Snoop Dogg like that was kinda low but he started it so whatever. Listen I thought her national anthem performance was pretty good. A little shaky. The issue was the way she sang the end of the song. She made the choice to sing it a little differently and it wasn’t well received. I feel bad for her but playing the victim….nah.

    I know it’s a fight
    To try and listen
Cause I might not know what to say
    Selfishly I’m worried
    You might run and hide
    Selflessly you’re learning
    I hold onto pride
    But no sacrifice
    Comes without mistakes
    And we could fly
    Take a leap of faith
    It’s time to decide
    Try
    Try
    Try
    Out here feelin’ scared
    But at least I’m livin’
    Unprepared to walk away
I won’t let the same thing, no
    Stop us every time
But why is it that changing, oh
    Feels like a goodbye
    But no sacrifice
    Comes without mistakes
    And we could fly
    Take a leap of faith
    Look inside, oh
    Don’t you hesitate
    We should fly
    Take a leap of faith
    It’s time to decide
    Try
    Try
    Try
What is it you’re waiting for
It’s time to open up your eyes and see
    See, see, see
You are what you’re waiting for
    Just open up your eyes
    It’s time to see
    See, see, see?
What is it you’re waiting for
It’s time to open up your eyes and see
    See, see, see
You are what you’re waiting for
    Just open up your eyes
    It’s time to see
    See, see, see
