Toyota Prius Plug-In Nightshade: Sporty Hybrid With a Dark Edge

I’m not ashamed to say it: I love this Prius. The 2026 Toyota Prius Plug-In Nightshade Edition trades its awkward eco-car vibes for slick style, blacked-out details and surprising performance. Best of all, it’s still one of the most efficient HEVs on the road today. 0:00 Intro 0:13 Trim Level 0:55 Hybrid Powertrain 1:58 Battery…

I’ve owned several generations(2,3,4) of brand new Prius and I stopped buying them with this generation(5). The previous generation(4) verged the line on “sport” while losing its practicality. The best generation was for daily driver was the fourth, no doubt. It was a great daily driver for the time.

This is the Prius that should have been introduced in 2017. I would have zero complaints with my Prius Prime (2017) if it were this model. 2026? Nah, only full BEV is on my radar now. The Prius Prime training wheels are off and it is clear I don’t need gasoline in my life anymore (oil & filter changes, gas stations, gas car annoyances).

This new Prius is so dang cool-looking! I hope they have a fully electric Prius in their sights; it would be a killer car.

Debadge it. 90% of people will have zero idea it’s a Toyota.

Sorry but the front end is a dead give away for a Toyota these days.

Yota ends Tesla if they make a Prius EV. It’d probably get 150 MPGe with a 450 mile range.
