@Tarik Bhatti I like what Dell sets out to do with the XPS line but they have way too many quality control issues right out of the gate than there should be.

      December 15, 2020 at 4:16 am

He just quickly mentioned it as that’s one of the only devices with a 1080p camera, which is missing on practically any other laptop/all in one at this point and everyone is video calling now

You know it’s cnet when time taken to explain 3 laptops made by other companies is almost equivalent to the time taken to explain one macbook

    • anshul 1045

      December 14, 2020 at 2:52 pm

Because it was an innovation this year lol.

    • Rayan Rias

      December 14, 2020 at 3:12 pm

@anshul 1045 yea I know it’s a game changer but apparently because of the title of the video, he could have put in more laptops instead of talking about macbook for the majority of this video. There is plenty of reviews on the internet about the m1 macbook and also it’s apple so everyone will know whenever they launch a new product. And not everyone wants a Mac. Ever since windows and samsung have partnered up, I can’t move into MacBooks because of the brand new ecosystem. And for an apple user, buying a macbook is the perfect choice for thier ecosystem.

    • anshul 1045

      December 14, 2020 at 3:29 pm

@Rayan Rias ummm. Sorry to say this but you can run iPhone and windows together. Samsung Windows partnership means nothing except having an office app and Xcloud. Which we know no one would play on. They would play on consoles.

    • anshul 1045

      December 14, 2020 at 3:29 pm

@Rayan Rias Also Samsung has not even released a competitive windows notebook till yet lol

    • EvergreenLeaf

      December 15, 2020 at 4:08 am

The M1 Air was a massive leap with the power and performance at that base model price. Also keep in mind CNET is a US site primarily targeting the US market where the macOS market share/people in the Apple ecosystem are higher than many other countries.

      December 15, 2020 at 6:33 am

I feel like every channel that doesn’t go out of its way to bash Apple is labeled by some as biased in Apple’s favor. Even LTT is accused of going soft on Apple whenever they like an Apple product

People have already pointed out why the Mac needs a bit more explaining this year, so I won’t repeat. Instead, I’ll just mention that you might want to take a look at how you treat opinions that don’t signal themselves as being explicitly friendly to your preconceptions. I think that people react the way they do because they’ve already decided their view towards Apple products (which is fair and normal), but they feel weirdly insecure about their beliefs and lash out at any perceived challenge to their way of thinking (which is unfair and abnormal). But a) you are not being called out, you’re just being exposed to a world outside your own head, and b) opinions about your corporations allegiances aren’t important enough to warrant a negative response when they’re questioned

    • Rayan Rias

      December 15, 2020 at 6:44 am

@Talha Mukhtar I’m not hating on apple or anything I’m just saying what’s with the title of this video when they could fit in a lot more devices when majority of the time has gone into explaining one product.

The thing is… this video is not for the 99 percent bruh its COVID time ain’t nobody got the moolah 💰 to spend on a 1000 dollar laptop

      Most of them.

    • EvergreenLeaf

      December 15, 2020 at 4:11 am

Just because *you* cannot afford it doesn’t mean a lot of people can’t get any use out of this video. If it’s not relevant to you, stop watching, it’s not hard. They’re focussing on the *best* laptops for a decent price, not the cheapest bargain basement crap.

Better to buy used laptop rather than new one. Also No need to buy the laptop that contain latest generation of processor.

    • Talha Mukhtar

      December 15, 2020 at 6:37 am

Mostly true, but in the case of the new MacBook, its best to buy a new one this year specifically. The new ones cost about $100 more than buying an old one, and give a lot more value for the money. The M1 chip really is phenomenal. But, that’s the exception that proves your rule. Slightly older laptops can often be a better value for average consumers

My pick – Microsoft Surface Pro 7 or Surface Laptop 3. 🙂

    • EvergreenLeaf

      December 15, 2020 at 4:09 am

Surface Laptop 3 is great but they need to make some improvements for the 4. More than one USB-C port, larger touchpad, USB-C dual sided charging, thinner bezels.

The manufacturers stopped calling them laptops, because they aren’t supposed to touch your body.
EMF radiation and wireless technology are harmful to your health.
“Smart” products are a dumb idea.
