The vast majority of our time at work is spent trudging through redundant and outdated workflows, says operations visionary Salvatore Cali. Laying out the most common time-wasting pitfalls, he urges policy leaders and businesses to reevaluate what they ask of both employees and consumers. “By rethinking the true purpose of each task, you will discover what is waste and what is the real gold of your company: the creation of value,” says Cali.

Completely logical but change won’t happen until AI takes hold. Then what new things will occur? Dum-dee-dum-dum.

This guy makes Italy sound like a children’s cartoon. Do they have rich that think anybody believes their BS? I can’t imagine such an absurd culture…
Generally all companies everywhere cater and pander entirely to the privileged and the parasites, who have zero-adjacent impact on GPD because they don’t work. He wants us all to extend our 8 to 16 hours workday by ANOTHER 45 minutes just so their kind can have double value?

I’ll totally work more, but I’ll do it after the shift at my day job is over in the basement dynamite factory that is cooking the rich’s last meal.

00:04 🕰 Redundant workflows in tasks like passport renewal signify wasted time and potential economic impact.
01:30 💰 Identifying and reducing wasted labor in processes can yield greater economic impact than traditional financial acts.
03:29 🌟 Human labor is the fundamental driver of economic value creation, reflected in a country’s GDP.
04:25 🔄 Legacy processes often contribute to wasted labor and inefficiency in companies.
06:22 📝 Reassessing the necessity of collected data and eliminating overcollection can streamline processes.
07:44 🛑 Overcontrollership can hinder accountability and create unnecessary costs in processes.
09:09 ⚠ Overmitigation in safety measures can lead to false positives and increased processing, potentially causing more issues than it solves.
10:31 💡 Making processes overly complex or inconvenient can harm customer experience and business outcomes.

    November 19, 2023 at 4:23 am

I’m not saying this isn’t a great topic, but it’s mind boggling to me how many ppl don’t already see this. End stage Capitalism functions as the management of the decline of the status quo. Simple Pareto distribution shows us 80% of the labor force achieves essentially nothing (20% of the results). The reason for the useless tasks they do is to act as a daycare, keep them busy and feeling important and well behaved for their allowance. The real crime is the all the wasted talent, so many incredibly smart minds rotting away in menial jobs. Maybe one day instead of being wage slaves (achieving nothing) , they can focus on something greater. But, misery loves company, And winners aren’t going to change a game they are winning. Self perpetuating cycle.

    • Narrative Gatherer

      November 20, 2023 at 8:57 pm

Don’t worry! All of that is going to change the day Boston Dynamics and Tesla start providing robot labour at commercially viable rate.

    • Carson Hunt

      November 21, 2023 at 2:28 am

@Narrative Gatherer naive to think so. They’d see us all homeless first. The idea of a universal basic income (or getting to live without “working” a menial job) is unacceptable to most ppl.
You must also understand that ppl with free time get up to no good. It’s better to keep slaves busy and indebted , keeps them well behaved. We already have an exponential increase in productivity and efficiency, yet we all work more than ever to get by. Economic analysts back in the 90’s predicted we’d work less than 10 hours a week due to nothing to do. Forgot the part we’d still waste our time at work pretending to work. Have you ever noticed if you do a good job/work hard and finish before the time is up, you are punished. You get more work, or ppl angry that you aren’t working. This system incentivizes halfass work output.

Late last week, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission chair Gary Gensler said that he was “proud to serve” the agency, which some are taking as a hint at an upcoming resignation. Gensler has faced heavy criticism for his crackdown on crypto, including a recent lawsuit from 18 states, and is likely to be replaced under President-Elect Donald Trump who has vowed to oust Gensler. On Tuesday, the Wall Street Journal reported that Trump is meeting with Brian Armstrong, the CEO of crypto exchange Coinbase, to discuss potential personnel appointments.

This episode of Equity brings you an interview between Rebecca Bellan and co-founder and CSO of blockchain analysis firm Chainalysis, Jonathan Levin. The pair caught up at our Strictly VC event in New York shortly before the Gary Gensler news dropped to discuss the imminent change for crypto in the wake of the US election and Chainalysis’s choice to run its operations in the US.

Equity is a show about the business of startups, where we unpack the numbers and nuance behind the headlines. New episodes drop every Wednesday and Friday. Subscribe wherever you get your podcasts.
