I found this q&a insulting, although I’m sure none of these obviously overpaid actors care, perhaps the producers will.
I have tried to watch the series but find it violent and horrific.
The show seems popular, and I watched this to learn if there is something more to the series that would be worth giving it a second try, and hoping it’s not popular because society now enjoys watching torture or for tips on being a psychopath.
These actors seem to feel above answering questions.
The show now seems less desirable than previously.
May the show fizzle into obscurity, and their paychecks end .

The show is based on a dystopian book, dystopians are usually but not necessarily violent. It is a genre designed to cause discomfort, is a genre that explores oppressive societies, extreme ideologies, or broken systems.

They aren’t “above answering question”, it’s called not spoiling a show that hasn’t aired yet.
If you find anything insulting, or violent and horrific, that’s fine as your opinion but that very much makes it YOUR problem. It’s not a problem with the actors or the show makers. The rest of your comment is even more laughable but rest assured, you’ll fizzle into obscurity long before this show does, likely in a day or two when most people have seen this video.

She could just be tired, or maybe have an adhd/autism overload moment (no idea if she has either, but just as example).
Maybe spend a tenth the time you’re using to “diagnosing” others, by looking in the mirror, and try to find out why you feel the need to project.

My point was playing a deep right wing conservative that wants to tie up all women’s autonomy is probably pretty unsettling when it comes true.
I don’t think she thought her character would actually be an inspiration.

Great series… four seasons was enough though… and Frank’s death had the right conclusion to conclude the series. Everything afterwards got far-fetched.
Question about “realistic” sovereignty between the former United States and Canada, which really turned me off (as a Canadian) as so many Hollywood directors take as liberty.
Haiwaii was still in existence as the United States. No American escaping Gilead would have been granted “refugee” status in Canada, and living in Canada, if the United States still existed with Hawaii as its last hold out territory. Americans arriving into Canada would have been sent to Hawaii as this state was still their country.
Second, how insulting that American film producers would assume the “Americans” characters can live in Canada, running Canadian prisons, exercising police and arrest and interrogation mandates (and carrying fire arms) in my country? So… I stopped watching.

Love the entire cast, love the show, it’s full of stars, and these women are incredible actresses… but I have to mention I watched The Handmaid’s Tale right after The Leftovers which continues being my favorite dramatic series of all times, and it’s all thanks to Ann Dowd. The impeccable while still being nuanced interpretation of characters is just an amazing thing to watch.

I was always confused by how being sent to Jezebels or the colonies felt random. June was never given that option and she broke the rules more than anyone. When she and Moira first escaped, June was sent back to the red center and Moira wasn’t. Same crime, different punishments. I think Rita, Moira, and Emily deserved bigger storylines outside of Gilead. Rita is by far a great character who was overlooked.

My question: Why did you drag this out for six seasons over nearly a decade?
It’s completely boring nowadays. Every storyline has been done over and over and over and over again. I imagine writers’ meetings must take about 5 minutes and go along the lines of “Right, what are we going to do now?” “Dunno. Let’s have June get captured and escape again, that normally works. Oh, and let’s keep dragging out this really tedious love triangle. And let’s taunt the audience for the 500th time that June is going to be reunited with her child, and then at the last minute have her snatched away. And let’s start and end every episode with Elizabeth Moss glaring at the camera with indignation about how her talents are being wasted on this crap”.

I cannot watch this show. I read the book in high school and it was bad enough then. My mother’s church agreed with the BAD guys of Gilead and every evil that they were. Now I grew up, fled them, thought that I got away. Now they are taking over the government and it is happening in real life. I promised myself that if it happened in real life, I would kill myself and as many of THEM as I could reach in one day. I have been trying to convince myself that none of this is real. If I lose that, I’m afraid what will happen.

Just finished watching the the last episode last night. Phenomenal show that was hard to watch at times as a woman. I LOVE these ladies and this cast and I’ll miss them. Great actresses here. Can’t wait to watch The Testaments!

@1:58 in like season 4 or 5 when Janine ends up at Jezebels she says to aunt Lydia that the new handmaid, Esther (a former wife) doesn’t understand the depths of the punishments and if Janine could just coach her and help her behave before they take *her* eye, and just give her a chance like she (Janine) wished she had, she’d be thankful for that and promises Esther will behave

*EDIT* I just googled it and NO, June never reunites with Hannah. We waited 6 seasons for no reunion and they won’t even let us have that in the new series!? No. See this is how you end up losing fans.
I have zero reason to have hulu without handmaid’s tale.. so i guess until testaments comes out I’m good. I never thought I would be this invested in a series. I was so upset about the ending at first but knowing there’s a new one coming out helps my crushed heart. I hope they bring everyone of these woman back. Weve waited 6 seasons for the reunion of Hannah & June. I can’t wait to see that. I hope they do 12 episodes. Who remembers when they would release 12 to 22 episodes? Now we only get 8 to 10.
