Tesla’s Musk Wants to Build a $25,000 EV in Three Years
Sep.24 — Tesla Inc.’s highly anticipated “Battery Day” fell short of expectations, but chief executive officer Elon Musk still said “In about three years from now, we are confident we can make a compelling $25,000 electric vehicle that is also fully autonomous.”

They could make a 25K car right now if they wanted to, but it would be just slightly better than other cheap EVs (like the VW e-UP!, Renault Zoe …etc.).
It’s a better choice to wait until they can make a “compelling 25K USD car”, as Musk said.

Hmmmmmm.. 40% true… You see they can but not at scale as yet they have to finnish building the factories first . You have to consider the osbourne effect.. You don’t want people to stop buying the more expensive cars that are currently available. That’s why they didn’t confirm nor deny the million mile battery as well..

@Francis Kingu They did confirm the million MILE battery (almost said dollar). The LFP (Lithium-Iron-Phosphate) chemistry for low end vehicles can withstand 6000+ full cycles. If the pack delivers 200 miles on a full charge, then 6000 cycles mean 1.2 million miles.
They may be able to scale the cheap car with LFP batteries right now, but they shouldn’t give up the profits that easily to a third party battery manufacturer. They’ll probably only make like 5K USD on the car, including basic Autopilot … and maybe another 5K on some cars for FSD Beta. It’s too risky to give away money at this point, when they have good demand for high end vehicles.

@Zoltán Kárpát youve really done your maths… Arguing with you will simply be speculation… What do you think best guess will the support line for stock be. Where would you load up like crazy… Looks like its had a little bounce back already during my dollar averaging down. And whats your best guess as to wherw it might peak at resistance. Trying to establish whe to go all in. But really its anyone’s gues predicting an emotional illogical market and factor in stock manipulation

Instead of helping the local car industry and offering work to the local people, Elon wants to move the US car production out to China. Making the local manufacturing more depressing while boosting the economy in China.

If u like to gamble, buy Tesla or go to Vegas. Battery loses range when pulling so it makes no sense that trucks are battery powered
instead of hydrogen powered.
If you like to invest, buy Amazon, Apple, Nvidia, Facebook, Microsoft, Google, Wells Fargo, Netflix, CRM

There’s only a 5 year world supply for lithium batteries (and Tesla is using up too much of that for the few , compared to how little
a smartphone uses for everyone). Current electrical infrastructure can’t supply the electricity to all homes. Powerlines
contribute to forest fires. Lithium batteries are mined by African children. Lithium batteries create toxic disposal wastes.

There needs to be a law that prioritizes lithium for smartphones over electric cars because cars have petroleum and hydrogen
alternatives.

Providing more lithium batteries for EV cars is just opening a can of worms because the electrical grid cannot support every house.
Not everyone can or wants to incur the cost of solar panels (which from my friend’s experience only lasted 7-10 years)
I have 4 cars, 2 cars (kids’ cars) are parked outside.

A battery manufacturer should sell to the highest payer. Ford, GM, and VW have deep pockets and they can pay more for the batteries
and put Tesla out of business.

An electric truck makes no sense because tests have shown that the battery drains faster when it has to pull. Hydrogen vehicles make
more sense in trucks than EV. Hydrogen vehicles fuel up in 5 minutes like gas cars and they have a 1000mpg range; EV you have to
wait 45+ minutes (and you have to wait for the guy in front of you to finish his charging)

THere isn’t a plugin at every corner like a a gas station and the charge is 50 minutes+ (assuming you aren’t waiting for the guy
before you to finish his charging)
