Why do we assume single people aren’t happy? Behavioral economist (and lifelong bachelor) Peter McGraw advocates for a world in which single life is just as accepted as marriage, debunking the myth that getting hitched is the only path to fulfillment. From spinsters to cat ladies, he outlines the power in chosen family — and invites you to reconsider what it means to live a remarkable life.

Yeah… ok, yeah and that’ll still only reward the women, while punishing the men

      What? How?
It’s literally saying to treat married and single people the same. How is that punishing men?

@technolus5742 because the law already favors women if they are single, already favors women if they get married and if they have kids, meanwhile single men get 5x less assistance than single women, and while married couples do get benefits for being married including tax cuts, there is still more aid options for married women than married men.

Single people are encouraged to get married, but the endemic problem isn’t being dealt with so, it won’t matter.

No, your comment is. Moreover when its just thrown out here without any supporting reasoning.
Having seen people get taxed more after a breakup while trying to rebuild and take care of their children, it’s a burden on top of an already tough situation. Not treating singles the same just worsens the situation.

@technolus5742 This video makes no mention of a breakup or kids, just single people being lonely, and how we should embrace it. Therefore…. this is stupid.

@ixeroi This video mentions single people. Divorced people are single……
And single doesnt mean lonely either 🤦‍♂️

@@technolus5742 true, single doesnt mean lonely I misspoke, I meant alone. But having children is not being alone. You will always have a dependant and there are several programs for those people already.
So creating these programs for single people and creating acceptance for this lifestyle is not sustainable by any societies means.
If you dont have kids and/or a family their will be no future. Thats all I’m saying, its not what you or a strong society should strive for.

      Perhaps,
I think it’s depend of the case you are. Single person have the opportunities of growing, know what’s right for their future live. That point it’s doesn’t possible for couple because theirs have wives and husbands whom give theirs points of all decision theirs can take

The older I get and the more I see friends settle down, the more grateful I am that I stayed single.

I think an average dude or women should be able to own a house by themselves reasonably.
