A pop up camera mechanism like the xaomi would solve the camera bulge on the back

No comment on it being fully open and possibly breaking due to the camera bump…

It feels much like surface phone pro. Instead of carrying a phone and say a ipad mini, I can carry this one. Assuming one’s inking needs don’t require a larger canvas, because the gap is a thing.
It can also be a small zoom class/meeting device. Have zoom on one screen and notes on other in a clamshel/landscape mode.

I love my Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ and don’t plan on getting a new phone, but I love the idea of a dual screen mini pad type device with internet service!

Can this be upgraded with a mini SD card? 256gb is not a useful amount, especially for those of us that travel internationally and don’t have use for the Cloud.

This will fail like most other Microsoft hardware products.

The phone has potential but these are hard to compare to the flip because Samsung has made it such a well rounded product people are going to get swayed much easier. I think Microsoft are pushing things a little too far but I understand that they want to be in the same page as everyone else’s.

The sheer screen size which is so wide its almost of the same size as the Fold3 with just one of the Duo screens. Then when you add there’s two of them and the phone has better camera specs its cheaper it’s lighter its thinner and it’s more durable made out of actual Gorilla Glass and not fake plastic glass…. buying the Duo2 is almost a no-brainer now.

1st one ended up being a Great phone after 5 months of Software Updates.

It feels like despite not having the greatest camera, the 1st generation is a more ergonomically makes sense device. You can never flip this 2nd generation 180 flat because of the camera bump, AND using the back camera will be extremely awkward as you hold it up like a tiny book.

      September 23, 2021 at 12:26 am

its flips to 170 degrees or so… so no biggie at all. Using the backcamera is far from awkward… just look at the hands on, all reviewer complement the camera shooting experience

      September 23, 2021 at 12:37 am

@Njoi Fontes if you flip 170, then the back camera is covered. The only way to take picture with the back camera is to have it opened (you will look like a tablet shooter).

Congrats MS. By throwing an obscene camera bump on this device you’ve ensured that many of us are not longer interested in this monstrosity. We can now no longer fold it completely open which probably ensures no possibility of using it as a GPS in a car. You’ve also probably ensured that a good percentage of people will crack the back glass by accidentally squeezing it and forcing it to twist around.

Google is also rumored to put be launching a folding Pixel next month. The folding phone wars are upon us!

Must be nice to have disposable funds to use and abuse in Microsoft company. The 1st one was a joke and now this, well, just pathetic. Totally waste of money. I would like to see Bill Gates go to prison 4life in association with Jeffery Epstein. Bill is no saint and karma will get him.

Yeah, I had to go with the fold. This not only looks outdated (surprisingly) but it looked sooo laggy just on the video alone. Plus the DS style casing seems odd. That being said, I mainly got the Fold 3 just because it’s new tech and I got it for $400 lol. Hopefully I keep it in good shape so I can keep it over the years

Now with that massive camera bump I am super excited to see how things work on the inside in a teardown!

The fold series made by Samsung, breaks down the middle after time, bendable glass does not work, the Duo does it probably 👍

I will just buy ipad mini period …how sad for Microsoft…. I am Microsoft fan before because of OS and micro sd but the display is not good 😭

This has me super interested. I stomached all the lag and hiccups here and there with the original Duo, and I eventually found myself falling in love with the device. Seeing as how the 2 has the latest hardware has me pumped to get my hands on one!

That was awful. The Duo one was fantastic and this new device will be even better. Nothing more needs to be said, especially from a person that wears a mask with that beard – eww!

I doubt very many people want more Microsoft in their life…. If anything the entire IP is dead and refusing to accept fate. With steam pushing Linux gaming, Apples phenomenal m1, Linux based PS5 crushing the competition MS has ALOT to worry about. Office is the real money maker and I hate it more with each downgrade.
