Bloomberg’s Bailey Lipshultz reports SpaceX is expected to raise as much as $50 billion in a record-setting IPO this summer which could value it at more than $1.75 trillion. High-net-worth family offices and funds with marquee institutional backers are among the types of investors with stakes in these SPVs, and who expect to see massive gains when these companies go public. Based on conversations with more than a dozen people in the industry, many are heading for disappointment.
