Chromebooks are way better now, everything I do is in the cloud so Chromebooks work for me. Those are good prices for a premium Chromebook

16×9 is from the HD tv craze era. No body wants that waste of space anymore on a laptop. People watch videos on their phone when they aren’t on their couch. People are buying laptops to read email, spreadsheets, organize files, create things, etc. All those things suck on a cramped vertical space of 16×9. Decent laptops these days are at least 16:10 with many going even taller. Yes 16:9 is dated and it makes the device look cheap, because that is the form factor used by $399 laptops that use generations old displays to keep prices down.

Some people prefer the simplicity of ChromeOS (not that it is as simple as it used to be). I for one am not interested in anything made by Apple.

Absolutely, will not buy the first product. Samsung and Google haven’t learned their lesson and anybody that follows them in this product line what x86 processors should fail just like All the other companies that have tried this. Why is a Chromebook on a x86 processor? When you’re going to be using nothing but arm software from the Play store, it just doesn’t make any sense. And the fact that last year you had heat problems with a x86 chip tells me something really is going bad with their engineering group.

I have an issue with Google being dumb. Why remove caps lock button for years and then add it again? Google needs to stick with its hardware choices but can move through software. That dumb button is my take away from this video

Would be nice to see Chrome OS being supported on the 8 Core Snapdragon Plus, that would for sure make an interesting Chromebook

If ChromeOS has more app compatibility like Windows and Mac, like say Adobe products or games that wouldn’t normally run on their platform. Then the $700 price tag of that chromebook would make sense.
Other than that.. i’ll wait for a cheap refurbished in 2 – 3 years…
