Thanks for addressing it. Too often do videos like these ignore there silly editing mistakes. Thanks for owning up to it and good video otherwise.

You also showed a very abusive animal ‘handler’ for this video. This man is known WELL THROUGHOUT the reptile community as a horrible handler. Here’s many other videos to explain why.

Remove or update the vid to adress him as anything other then an expert the only thing hes an expert on is abuse of his animals

This guy actually has quite a terrible reputation for not taking good care of his animals. I think this is the first time Wired really chose badly with the “expert.” Somebody didn’t do their research on this one. He seems fine at a surface-level, but the more educated you are on the subject, the more you can see that his enclosures aren’t up to standard even in this video.

Please don’t give Jay more publicity. He has very dangerous and unethical care for his animals. There are far better, also well known, reptile personalities out there that could used for this type of info

Please look up “The problem with Prehistoric animals and Reptile Zoo” by Cid Dryer. The reptile community hates him for being an abusive animal handler. Terrible reptile enclosures that puts employees and guests in danger. Baits his lizards out of their enclosures to try and be the next Steve irwin without the respect for these animals, as well as stressing them to the point of being aggressive by saying “he loves to play with them”, and breeds snakes and lizards who are sick or have disabilities and conditions to get “pretty” patterns which encouraged abusive breeding that ends up with animals with breathing conditions and neurological disorders.

  24. Pawlys Bartys

Looking good Jay, lost some weight?

  25. Ronald Kichurchak

    July 26, 2023 at 7:45 am

Why wouldn’t they get an actual herpetologist to answer these questions? This guy is despised within the reptile community for abusing his animals, cramming them in tiny tanks, and making sensationalistic videos where he coaxes snakes to strike at him just for views, which feeds the myth that snakes are dangerous and aggressive. This guy is an absolute joke.

  26. Mortiam

    July 26, 2023 at 2:40 pm

He missed the point of some questions… How do you tell the difference between a python and a boa? You have to wait till it reproduces to tell the difference?
Komodo dragon’s saliva has venom, but it’s still the saliva that kills. The question wasn’t about bacteria, it was about saliva.
The question “What snake has the longest fangs?” was not asked! Maybe it was an editing mistake, but he answered a completely different question than shown on the screen!
