Building trust in crypto with Jonathan Levin of Chainalysis | Equity Podcast
Late last week, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission chair Gary Gensler said that he was “proud to serve” the agency, which some are taking as a hint at an upcoming resignation. Ben Horowitz’s cozy relationship with the LVMPD – and why it matters | Equity Podcast
Over the last few years, VC Ben Horowitz has donated at least $7.6 million to fund police department purchases – including the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s new drones from a16z-backed Skydio. Skydio is not the first of a16z’s portfolio companies to benefit from these donations, either. Kirsten Korosec, Devin Coldewey and Margaux MacColl dig…

jaypob Given that cars go all the way up to millions of dollars, I think I’ll ask $250,000 for my VW. Seems mid priced when you look at it that way. Thanks. ?

The point is the price is stupid high. I have a manfroto south of $250 that does the same thing, weight has never been an issue and it’s not now. Keep it

You can’t unless you put a fluid mount. Or you put a gimbal which is another 500 bucks hahaha

3 legged thing is even smaller. Pricing is tiered. This is small! I even use it when I don’t travel. I’m using Sony A6500 and a 70-300 on this. Probably not best with my Nikon D810, but it never travels.

Omg!!! ? I so need to get this tripod, it’s something I’ve never seen before in my life.. OH HELL NO!!! NO Thanks. I mean really 600 dollars for a tripod that a inexpensive tripod already does with a good head on it! And they don’t give you pegs for landscape or harsh terrains where you need to spike the tripod in the ground! A bubble that gets covered when you put a camera on!! And 600 dollars, your title should have been “peak designs crushed our wallets” the only thing I see is that it’s very compact, but beyond that, not gonna get this sucker to buy this tripod, I’ll leave it to the Richie riches out there in the world or now a dayz, those YouTube groupies that jump when there gold by there favorite You tubers..

$599? You mean $600? I rely on B&H and get Manfrotto stuff. Now, THAT’s a good price point. Currently happy with my 190CX3 and 488RC2 carbon setup. Paid about $300.00 few years back. Also turned of by his Darjeerling reference, and the San Francisco snobbery.

In all honesty it looks really really flimsy, and I know it’s a travel tripod but still…Price might be justified if it is sturdy as a rock and holds up well over time. Flip locks over twist lock is more of a personal preference, but when it comes to cleaning I think twist locks are easier. The one ring ballhead does nog offer you any pano capabilities which straight out sucks…also nog removable head. It just feels more like a gadget than a real innovation.

4. The Level Bubble is 100% Blocked when Camera is Attached.

this tripod isn’t designed for that though, it’s designed for travellers who want a smaller, lighter backpack. You wouldn’t bring a 400mm with you going camping, would you?

“Come in at sort of a mid/low-mid price point range that is accessible to people who aren’t just flush with cash.” Is this fraudulent marketing or PD engineers are so overpaid that they lost sense of “price ranges”?

I’d rather a cheaper solid heavier tripod for travelling, something I could shrug my shoulders at whilst watching it descend a waterfall or drop on the road and get totalled by a truck.

I call bullshit. I have a tripod flashlight that I bought 12+ years ago that has the same legs. These types of legs have existed for a long time. Kudos to peak design though for being the first to apply it into a camera tripod. Lose the lightning struck me and I had an idea story.

Why would I buy a tripod that costs as much as a nice new lens or a good used camera body? I don’t like carrying a tripod when I travel anyway, I like a monopod. I bought my travel monopod for less than $125 with a nice case and strap. No to another Peak Design overpriced accessory.
